People who are hyping up the 27 draft have very short memories. IIRC in the run up to the 25 draft, everyone was complaining how that draft class was thin on first round level picks, and how the 26 draft was going to be SOOOO much better. It should also be pointed out that one of the reasons that the 27 draft is so hyped is that there are 5 QB's who are supposed to be top 10 picks in that draft. Last year guys like Nussbaum and Manning were supposed to be top 5 picks in this draft. Manning went back to Texas where he can improve and likely make as much money as a rookie in the NFL, and Nussbaum had injury issues and will likely be a 2nd or 3rd day pick So you never know who will get hurt, who will go back, or who simply craps out in a future draft.
As to Brown, we had the 3rd best offense, and the 4th best passing attack and were in the top 10 in scoring with the group we are so desperate improve on. To me he would be a wonderful luxury. It would be greatl to have him, but it won't be the end of the world if it doesn't happen.
Philly isn't going to get the bag they have been calling for, especially after the draft. Plus they need AJ if they want to improve THEIR offense and contend. When the offers drop to 2nd day levels, I believe Howie will come to the conclusion that they will be better off keeping him. They already lost one WR so far
