Patriots strike deal with New Balance to name the new training facility and be official shoe and apparel of the Patriots

I have not seen anyone wearing New Balance shoes in quite a long time. Is it a brand that will appeal to 20-somethings? My impression is that Nike and a few other brands left "Newbies" in the dust a long time ago.
I have a friend that works there, so take this with a grain of salt, but it's actually the opposite from what he says. New Balance doing very well for themselves. They do really well in the lifestyle space (not as much in the actual athletic shoes) and "retro" is really in right now so it lines up for them.

From four weeks ago:
New Balance sales grew 19% last year to $9.2 billion as the legacy sneaker giant continued to outperform the global footwear market and take share from floundering competitors like Nike.

Since 2020, New Balance has grown sales by a staggering 180%, placing it among a handful of standout competitors that supersized their businesses as Nike changed its business model and lost significant market share.

Good to hear. Back in my day wearing New Balance shoes to school meant all the black kids in their nice Jordan's were gonna beat my ass

You're just not looking for it, but New Balance has had a resurgence in the last 15 years. And yes, they are popular with the younger generation which started with the older millennials.

Nike still dominates by a wide margin, but they have taken a hit recently. People (me included) are getting tired of the fake hype, poor materials/craftsmanship, same releases, lack of innovation and rising prices. Gen Z doesn't have the same nostalgia attachment that Gen X and Millennials have to Jordan's or other Nike's, so they've turned their attention to creating their own trends that nobody initially cared for.

I have a pair of New Balance Fresh Foam X 1080 V13. Came out in 2024. Cost me a pretty penny, Cost 180 after tax. But man, worth every penny. They are the most comfortable sneakers I’ve worn in about 40 years. Even more comfortable than my On Cloud Cloudmonsters (also VERY comfortable), but man, the NB are unbelievably comfortable.

New Balance is my shoe of choice. But I have wider feet than most. Nike and Reebok tend to run narrow and I've not been able to wear them in the last 40 years.

I am pretty sure a company wanting to sponsor the training facility of an NFL team is very normal lol. I just saw a story a few weeks ago about how the Eagles' training complex sponsor was changing hands. That cheapo Jeffrey Lurie...

It’s big $$$ advertising. Would be interesting to see who else was in play for it. “Come train at our brand new high tech athletic training center…”The Depends Athletic Center”, where you can piss yourself before, after, and even during your workout! DEPENDS!”.

Most comfortable pair of sneakers I ever owned was a pair of reeboks back in the mid 1980s, it was like walking on a pillow. I think they still make the line, just have to do some research. But the NB ones I talked about are the 2nd most comfortable I’ve ever owned.

My current pair of walking sneakers are New Balance and they are the best pair I’ve ever had, my next pair will be New Balance.

It’s a nice facility. Imagine Patriots Place, only in a town which is conveniently located and easy to get to…..
…..and without an inland lighthouse (with tiny bell)

I like NB and Adidas
