Brown for nothing and we haven't had a WR of his caliber in years. Brown have some have some decent years left and would click with Drake Maye. I hope the Patriots get creative and offer either Pop or Boutte in the deal. 31 and Pop Douglas for Brown or 63 and Boutte for Brown. FTR I am in favor of keeping Boutte but if he's included the Brown compensation shouldn't be a whole lot. We now have Romeo Doubs now.I am fine with the Eagles keeping Brown and the Pats moving on.
Too much risk for too much compensation.
I am not hung up on the trade package, although I would rather they keep their picks. I do not want AJ Brown on this team, I think he is a malcontent and I would rather they did not put him in this locker room. It's obvious you're hung on a the First Rounder. But we can't get A.J. Maybe the stupidest post I'ver seen.I do not see Pats WINNING a SB as long as Elliot Wolf and MIKE Vrabel are here.
Wolf lacks boldness, creativity and is risk averse
Vrabel to his credit prioritizes past experience and loyalty to players
and defense over offense.
Last year they got to SB because of Nix injury and weak schedule. Will not happen again in next decade
Vrabel very good coach average executive
Free agency and lack of needle moving trades has shown who Wolf is.
Not just that. There’s a huge decrease in cap hit to them after June 1 that could affect their ability to make roster moves for the rest of the year..The June 1st thing was kind of shot down. It has more to do with Goederts contract guarantee than that. They would have to wait till June 1st if they cut Goedert. At least that’s what I read. If they trade AJ before June 1st and cut him then they wouldn’t have enough to sign their rookie class etc…but if they trade AJ and restructure Goedert they’d be okay.
Goedert signed.
People are judging A.J. Brown off that Year Barkley had: a Team would be crazy not to run their Offense through a Talent like Barkley. I remember Brown existed with Derrick Henry great one two punch Mike Vrabel HC. I don't think Brown's a selfish player...but Philly wasn't going to turn into a passing Team if they didn't have to with a talent like Barkley. A.J. Brown wouldn't have a no problem being Great here: I mean look at the alternatives.I am not hung up on the trade package, although I would rather they keep their picks. I love his attitude as far as wanting to completely dominate the DB but if he is not getting the ball when he thinks he should he has shown that he can/will act out.
I think the offense would be alright without Brown. I will cheer my ass off if he comes here, but I would prefer he not.People are judging A.J. I mean…AJ Brown has always been regarded as a tier above those guys. The lesson to be learned is don’t overpay 2nd tier guys because you’re desperate. Brown is not a 2nd tier guy.If the Pats had only gotten Chris Godwin.
If the Pats had only gotten Calvin Ridley
If the Pats had only gotten Brandon Aiyuk.
Good thing the Pats dodged those bullets.
AJ Brown will be the difference, for a team that is still rebuilding.
And how far do you think alright get's us?? Seattle was a very good Defensive Team and have JSN on Offense. Remember we got to the SB with Great Defensive play. Also got some got some huge breaks along the way... Houston no Nico Collins - Denver no Bo Nix. Our Anemic Post season Offense let us down in the SB.I think the offense would be alright without Brown. I will cheer my ass off if he comes here, but I would prefer he not.
I didn't think so either but Philly's cap situation looks manageable after a June First move.I still doubt they trade for him. I just don't see it.
Sam is back, posting his crap.Maybe the stupidest post I'ver seen.
That's saying a lot
Except if they wait till post June 1 the monies get split between this year and next year, so they still have to pay it, just this year's hit is less, right? So if that is the case they may well think draft picks this year and more cap next year, may outweigh the hit this year."Now trading [WR] before June 1st becomes more palatable b/c Philly would be putting that $15-$17M in savings towards the aforementioned $26.6M difference."
This is just so inconceivably ridiculous. No matter what, Brown's dead cap hit pre-June 1 is $43M if traded. Only Nick Cattles can spin that spending $43M is actually only $26.6M. Cattles didn't even know about the dead money until this past week and now he is acting like is no big deal. There will be no trade prior to June 1 if at all.
Unless his trade value has decreased to the extent some of the rumors have said, I'm not high on him either. I will say, under no circumstances am I ok with them trading our 1st rounder in 2027. (Even if that's all it takes to get the deal done)I think the offense would be alright without Brown. I will cheer my ass off if he comes here, but I would prefer he not.
