Player Signing Two new signings- TE Julian Hill and S Mike Brown

Since when do #3 TEs take 441 of the offensive snaps? Nearly 200 more than the next TE on the team?

Dulcich played 245 snaps
Waller played 234 shaps
Tanner Conner played 181 snaps

Hill was #3 when it came to TE Targets (20), but #1 in snaps because he was on the field blocking for their run game. You're downplaying him because he's a blocking TE that you don't know enough about.
And IIRC, one of Miami's saving graces was their run game and Achane. Hill was a big part of that success. Think about it. Last year when we went to have Mumford as a TE and Tonga as a FB we literally told the defense we are running the ball up the middle. Now with Gilliam and Hill we leave some doubt that defenses HAVE to be aware of and loosen their defenses. Improving his play action fakes is one area of his game I hope Drake will improve on.,

All it takes for Hill to lead the team in snaps is Darren Waller to miss half the season with injury... oh yeah, and for Dulcich to be active for a little more than half the season, and both he and Conner to suck so royally that Conner was waived outright late in the season.

The bigger question you should ask is why a team so desperate to find TE help they signed a 33 year old Waller out of retirement and allowed a restricted free agent Julian Hill leave the team.

Oh yeah, and he's not some revelatory blocker either, he is comparable to Austin Hooper as a blocker but much less a receiver. He's not some road grader, I suspect they've looking for CJ Dippre or a draftee to improve the overall position. The good news is he plays special teams, that gives him a leg up to actually help the team.

The Patriots signed him for 3 years. They disagree with you. I also disagree with you.

People here told me Chuks Okorafor was a good signing.

I haven’t even said this player sucks, he’s got some athleticism. I just don’t see anything beyond a solid back of the depth chart contributor and special teams player… or what I said in my first posts.

Brown can't play an NFL ****ing position (Think Brendan Skoooler); and the penalty-machine "blocking" TE is CRIMINALLY ****ING OVER-PAID. I mean, what the ****?!?!?
You continue to show yourself to be an imbecile, Stone. Hill had all of TWO flags called on him last year. 1 of which was declined. That's hardly a "penalty machine.

Your claims that Brown can't play a position are complete BS as well. No big surprise there that you're wrong.

Maybe Brown can play a defensive position but not really at a quality nfl level. He got 4 snaps last year on a bad Tennessee team.
But he wasn’t brought here to play defense he was brought here for special teams.
As usual Captain is underrating these guys, but Hill is being savagely overrated by much off the board, so he’s not more wrong than most about hill.

Brown is a waste of a pickup.
Hill seems like a potential darkhorse to actually do something on offense. Not just a blocking TE.
But, I still want to see a prototype all-around TE drafted as our future.

Top 3 rounds should be: EDGE, TE, OT

Top 3 should be Edge, OT and LB. The TE depth in this draft is such that you'll still get quality in the 4th round. The same can't be said for OT or LB.

Hill has been given a 3 year contract. They might just like him a fair bit.

Hill has been mostly a blocking TE in Miami. Apparently we need that role filled.

Do you feel more excited for the blocking TE or the Fullback we signed in free agency?

Brown is a good special teams player. We need good special teams players.

I was going to state that this was a guy who you sign in June, but after I read his story, this is clearly a special kid who looks like he can be one of those guys who exceeds his physical abilities on the field. We need better blocking from our TE, and he could be just what we are looking for. Anything he can bring to the passing game will be gravy

And don't forget Mike Brown. IIRC he's been a starter in the league, and we need solid depth pieces too. Another guy who is usually signed after the draft, but does it matter WHEN a guy is signed in the end. These guys are not the guys that move the so called needle, but they may become important once the season starts.

Ken, I agree that these signings are a little under the radar, but when you put them together, as they will be in the field, it's a significant upgrade in overall physicality, and a further commitment to bringing in team first guys. I think at this point most will agree that Vrabel and his front office know what they are doing. They added more quality to this roster and still left themselves more than enough to finish getting what they want done this offseason.

Wouldn't be surprised if the next "signing" is a Gonzalez deal.

And they both kinda Suck now, each in their own special way...
and so didn't Vrabel and a thousand others. I give them a chance to succeed or fail with the Patriots before I call them "kinda Suck".
