If I’m reading Spotrac right he’d cost us $16.4mm cap hit this year. Unless he renegotiates. He has two years left, a two year extension seems like it would be ideal.
I’d do it.
For years it seemed they had 2#1 picks, i don't know how roseman did itSide note: Honestly just still blown away by how much talent that Eagles defense had upfront. They absolutely murdered their drafting for awhile.
Landry has a bad knee that may or may not impact his playing going forward and he is also 1 years older then Sweat. His career per 17 games is 23 pressures and 7.7 sacks.
Harold Landry, playing hurt, had 23 and 8.5 last year.
I don’t see how Sweat is worth 16 mill plus draft picks more than Landry.
Seems like a very Healthy Guy compared to you know...Turns 29 in 2 weeks but not "old". Existing contract runs through 2028.
Really hoping he takes an injury settlement. Landry seems cooked and will just be stealing money going forward.Landry has a bad knee that may or may not impact his playing going forward and he is also 1 years older then Sweat.
If he can't come back to his pre-injury 2025 self...then yes.Really hoping he takes an injury settlement. Landry seems cooked and will just be stealing money going forward.
His injury may or may not linger is also not worth 16 mill and draft picks.Landry has a bad knee that may or may not impact his playing going forward and he is also 1 years older then Sweat.
Nobody knows how successful his offseason treatment and rehab will be.Really hoping he takes an injury settlement. Landry seems cooked and will just be stealing money going forward.
Surprised I haven’t seen this being discussed. We need edge, would he be a good acquisition? He’s 28 so not a youngster but not terribly old. Won’t be cheaper, seems like he’d be better. Don’t know his cap hit, or what the trade would cost. Thoughts?
Reiss mentioned it's bone-on- bone... also be mindful that this is Landry 3rd knee injury I believe of his career. If he does end up playing I see him being heavily managed.. so he won't be a high snaps guys.. as I mentioned previously we need a starter at edge opposite Dre Jones..Nobody knows how successful his offseason treatment and rehab will be.
We know he played on a bum knee and didn’t play well. Probably didn’t do good things to the knee either. But we don5 know details of the injury or the repair.
So there’s a chance Landry is not cooked.
I’m not optimistic, and need to see how he looks when he’s done rehabbing and game ready, as much as he will ever be. Hopefully that’s as good or almost as good as before injury.
I’m not betting on it.
Vrabel won't give up the draft capital... it's probably a better bet we sign from this list while also going hard in the draft...Already wants to get traded after he signed with Arizona?
Cardinals won't do it until after June 1st.
