Player Signing Two new signings- TE Julian Hill and S Mike Brown

Backend of the roster signings.
Agreed
We signed a couple of RFA players that weren't tendered. Vrabel knows both well.

From Part 3:

When Hill returned home this offseason, he told his old high school coach over dinner that it’s his goal to become the best blocking tight end in the NFL. (“How many people want that as a goal?” Bill Sochovka says.)

There is a Part 2 and Part 3.. Well worth the read.

Part 3

I was going to state that this was a guy who you sign in June, but after I read his story, this is clearly a special kid who looks like he can be one of those guys who exceeds his physical abilities on the field. We need better blocking from our TE, and he could be just what we are looking for. Anything he can bring to the passing game will be gravy

And don't forget Mike Brown. IIRC he's been a starter in the league, and we need solid depth pieces too. Another guy who is usually signed after the draft, but does it matter WHEN a guy is signed in the end. These guys are not the guys that move the so called needle, but they may become important once the season starts.

For now. With upside.
The TE has a little athleticism and seems to have good hands, but all I see are special teams players and end of the depth chart guys. I could be wrong, and have been in the past.

I hope they still add a TE and Safety in the draft. Dippre also has to work his butt off and step up this year.

I like Hill's raw ability a lot. I think he ends up making a couple of important plays on offense, either in the run game or the pass game.

You're right that they're both going to be core special teamers for the most part, but I do have hopes for Hill long term. There's a reason the Patriots signed him up for 3 years.

Kinda feel like Hill's skillset is meant to spring Henderson on outside runs...which would be pretty cool.

I'll subscribe to this newsletter.

Doesn't move the needle: we have basically nothing after can't Block H Henry. I hope we double dip I want a TE who excels at Blocking with Catching upside.

Sam Roush
Tanner Koziol
Oscar Delp
Max Klare
Eli Raridon
Marlin Klein

They have 11 draft picks and plenty of cap space for UDFA. There's no reason they can't load the boat.

Our Runnings last year got no Help for our TE's. We need poor mans Gronk Blocker from the position; at the vey least.

Have you every watch him?? Is he pure In-line??
Pure in-line?
No. He can absolutely play in-line though.
Dude can block, he just needs some coaching. I think committing to him for 3 years, the Patriots have some real hopes for him.

We had two good TE's last year entrenched in the starting two positions and they stayed healthy. It was highly unlikely a rookie was going to unseat Henry or Hooper.

And the team did add some help in Dippre, he has ridiculous size, strength and even good athleticism. People writing off 2025 rookies entirely just because they didn't play much or at all should rethink that. There's a depth chart, coaches use and respect the depth chart.

Rookies have to earn their snaps, not playing is not the same as not being able to. We know this because history has shown us rookies who weren't playing at all suddenly getting thrust into starting positions and producing. Without injury that opportunity never would have happened. Henry and Hooper stayed healthy, and despite you slamming them, they are both very good players.

The story was mighty impressive .. I am rooting a lot for him. He is going to be huge for running game and few trick plays. Don't forget he was a QB . Could be be our tayson Hill ? I expect him to become the Swiss army knife we never had .
