Carlos A. Lopez can't spell Eliot Wolf's last name correctly. Hard for me to take a tweet seriously when the author claims to have an insight and he doesn't even know the source's name.

It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Good summary of where things stand at this point (doesn’t list Gibbens as leaving though, I guess that’s still TBD). More out than in. Could potentially create space for guys like Bryant, Farmer, and Swinson if they take advantage of it. But expecting to see some low-name free agent signings soon as veteran competition for most of those spots. But I’m still hoping for starter capable players for TE2, ILB, and edge.
Vrabel is OK at evaluating front seven defenders.Yeah, I was a little surprised about that. Just Spillane and Ellis left from last year’s LB group now. I wanted an upgrade there anyway, seems like the team does too. Curious to find out the plan, since it clearly doesn’t involve a big name free agent signing at this point.
Not a draft thread but I really like Anthony Hill Jr. I like Jacob Rodriguez as well but Hill first.DE and LB will be high on the Pats draft boards
He was referring to Cameron Wolfe who added that they have been too expensive.Carlos A. Lopez can't spell Eliot Wolf's last name correctly. Hard for me to take a tweet seriously when the author claims to have an insight and he doesn't even know the source's name.
I thought like...we all sort of understood that.I kept saying that a lot of our guys were JAGs, and posters kept arguing the point with me. Posters had all kinds of projections for contract proposals to Hawkins, Tonga, Gibbons, etc. when I was saying we needed better options. Some posters had detailed stats on why we should keep JAGs - hint, hint, LOL.
We always have lots of jag's on our 53 (and certainly on our 90-man) squads.I kept saying that a lot of our guys were JAGs, and posters kept arguing the point with me. You gotta have JAG's. It's not possible to pay 53 players like they are starters. At some point we're swapping out our JAG's for their JAG's.We always have lots of jag's on our 53 (and certainly on our 90-man) squads.

BB always got. good play out of his jags, especially on Defense. Vrabel did the same.

And, sure, some of projected what it would cost to bring back our free agents. Why wouldn't we. Certinly Vrabel considered some of them, perhaps for camp competition, perhaps simply as bottom of the roster backups.
Vrabel was negotiating with Hawkins. Was this unreasonable? It was fine strategy in case he couldn't land an all-pro.
I am curious if anyone knows where we are at cash wise more or less?
This must include the Digg’s release. As I believe he was released todayFrom Miguel: I believe this was before the 2 minor signings were announced (Hill andBrown).
"My latest projection for the Patriots 2026 salary cap space number after accounting for the Kevin Byard signing is $41,134,151 - a $9M increase from my last update. The above numbers do NOT account for the signings of Romeo Doubs and KJ Britt."
I agree but it looks promising, my main point was Wolf is no longer in charge of the players picked. The fact of the matter is that we really don't know what we got out of last year's draft.
We still have major questions about Will Campbell, Treveyon, Kyle Williams and Jared Wilson.
Woodson seems to be the only pick so far with a degree of certitude. Although even with Woodson, last year's safety class was the best one I've ever seen as multiple safeties taken both before and well after Woodson were considered as strong contenders for the all-Rookie team.
Last year's draft class won't be judged properly for another year or two. It could be great, but if 2 of the 4 players I mention above flame out, it will be considered underwhelming to mediocre. If 3 flame out, it will be considered a disastrous draft especially after 2024's nightmare draft.
UFA has not officially started but from the reported signings they have decided not to go after big names and focus on 2nd tier or lower ufa’s.
They have let some players walk as well.
Overall I see them so far as not having meaningfully improved the team.
Where they re picking in the draft they might get 2 starters.
I think they take a step back next year
