Player Signing Romeo Doubs Signs

Huh? The Hamstring Injury that landed Douglas on the Injury report didn't happen until the end of the year.

Or do you think that there were lingering issues from his 2024 ankle injury where he didn't miss any time?
I seem to remember him being sidelined at one point.

If this is their answer to helping Drake the front office is a joke, would rather have Diggs if it weren’t to his legal issues.

Doubs, Boutte, Hollins, Williams, Douglas/Chism

I suspect that we will continue to look for possible upgrades. Why wouldn't we?
==========
That being said, the Offense should be better.
1) Maye and most everyone else has a year of experience in the system.
2) AVT and moving Wilson to center should help the OL.
==========
So, the quality of the WR's (as of now) is about the same as last year. The passing game should be better since the OL is better, the running game is better, and Drake is more experienced.

Gee. How about the fact that you don't ACTUALLY state what Doubs is. WR1 or WR2, Ross. You state that "Boutte and Williams could be those guys" which would refer to them being the #1 and #2 respectively. It doesn't refer to them both being the #2.
I really don’t get it. I said “they needed a WR2. Doubs is that guy”, it seems logical I was talking about the role immediately preceding the statement and not something completely else. I then said Boutte and Williams could be that guy, is it logical to think they could be a WR1 or is it more logical to think I was saying they could be a WR2? Another context clue. I then further said Hollins was that guy last year. Was Hollins their WR1 or their WR2 last year? Another context clue.

I don’t think this one was hard to grasp, no one else seemed to take issue with it.

Douglas missed 3 games as a rookie, but that's it. Week 6, week 13 & week 14. He suffered a concussion in week 5 and again in week 12. He appeared on the injury report in week 10 that same year, but didn't miss time.

What's not to get. You stated that they needed BOTH then went on to claim that "Doubs is that guy" without clarifying anything.

Just drop it and move on .

I see many of the GDT denizens are here making their customary (cough) contributions. Congrats on staying in shape kids! You boys are in mid season form

Yup.
WRs weren't really our problem last year and won't be this year.
Do we lack an alpha #1, sure.
Do we need one......debatable.
Of course we would all like one, and that may come via trade or draft, but the Doubs signing was a solid move.
He's a good player being paid as a #2, which is what he really is.

This is a pretty solid signing - 4 years, $70M equates to about $17M APY. Pretty decent value for a good WR2 which is what he is. He doesn't solve the WR1 problem, but there were no answers to that problem on the free agent market. He does make the room better brings them a player type that they needed, and should operate well with Maye. He was effectively Green Bay's WR1 last year for much of the season due to injuries and performed well. If Kyle Williams and Kayshon Boutte take a step then the room should be in decent shape, but still in need of one elite player at the top, most likely.
We're not going to get a number 1. I like kcs model where they're giving mahomes a legit running back. Have a bunch of alright wrs. Vrabel seems to be doing the same thing with the guard and fb. I think he knows we need a legit running game to help drake. I like we can pick the best players available now in the draft

He took a step back this year no doubt about it. I think it was partly due to injury and partly due to the addition of Diggs.
Douglas is not a fit in Josh’s offense. He’s a slot WR that thinks he’s a boundary guy. He’s terrible deciphering zone and can only beat man because of his quickness. He is not a good fit on this team.

Meh 4.47 40 yd dash, #2 gonzo will strap him.up.

Blah. He isn't worth $80 and will be gone in 2 years tops. But to be fair, not a lot of good options out there right now...

Here's an interesting stat for the cult.
JSN had 4 catches for 27 yds in the SB.
Seattle won.
Did Seattle need a legit #1 to beat us, and did JSN play a big role in the SB victory?
Interested to hear the cult explain this one.

The man who let Meyers walk was shown the door shortly after, partly due to that very type of management.
True. But the other half, the guy who controls the purse strings, is still here...

Anyone thinking this guy is a #1 WR is a fool, solid 2, prob not even an upgrade over Diggs. Especially Diggs prob being even healthier this upcoming season.

If this is their answer to helping Drake the front office is a joke, would rather have Diggs if it weren’t to his legal issues.
And I would rather have Chase if it weren't for him costing twice as much and playing for another team.
