If Maye really does have that x factor to elevate jag receivers to look good, when working with better talent he should be able to put that receiver in position to succeed as well and use every bit of what that guy can offer, so I am not complaining about this signing. Our WR is better than yesterday and there is a possibility it works as well as with Diggs.

Again, the WR#1 if that's the piece that will move the neddle, it is still missing.

Now why do I need a wr1 when I have 2 real good wr 2 and semi decent options in wr3 and 4 and not to underestimate two fantastic running backs and the very fact that my QB has legs which amounts to something .

If he can win 50% of his contested catches that's all we need. If teams don't double up doubs and Boutte or sit in a zone and we kill em that's more than sufficient .

Pop is the misfit here. The moment we get a slot who can sit in zones which I hope Chism can slot into, this offense will be cooking . Till then there is going to be too many questions.

I think you get the TE high up in the draft.

It's much easier to find one at the end of the first round vs WR.

This was basically swapping Diggs for a younger, more explosive, cheaper version. Doubs isn't as good as Diggs has been throughout his career obviously, but he can certainly be as good as Diggs was last year (if he stays healthy). The age difference is notable not only in terms of years 2-4 on the deal but also within the year, it seemed like Diggs wore down by playoff time and his production fell off a cliff.

If we don't make another move at WR/TE, we will definitely need Kyle Williams to step up more and/or Boutte to show he's more than just a deep ball / contested catch guy.
