Player Signing Romeo Doubs Signs

Was hoping for Jawan Jennings, who had a pretty good last year. Dont think its an overpay as WR are getting bags for awhile now

He is the Diggs replacement for sure, albeit a bigger targer which seems to match well with Maye's fondness with bigger targets

I am still hoping we can find a slot player to replace Douglas, he sucks balls
 
They are probably out on WR for the rest of FA. I assume Pops walks. Now they probably really need to look to the draft to get that WR 1. And that means, and i know this is a big step. That first pick needs to be used on a WR with maybe a trade up if they want this addressed. You don't tend to often find WR1s in round 2 or lower.
 
I don't think the Patriots want to give up a 2027 1st and have to cut players in order to pay Brown and Doubs. Correct me if I am wrong but I think the Pats now have 20M left under the cap and Brown would cost 28M.

Boutte's production and youth are valuable here.

We've been talking about Alec Pierce and the truth is that Boutte's 2025 was just as good if not better than Pierce's

And there's a certain level of ignorance to their complaints. They believe every player on the team has to be the best player in the league at their position or they suck. They don't understand team building at all, they think it's just a matter of paying big name players, as opposed to adding solid players while they search for better players to eventually take the position,
 
Ive never seen so many different salary reports this soon. 3/60, 4/70, and 4/80.

Packers fans are really talking him up on Reddit and will miss him, been a theme with Vrabel signings.

I couldn't care less what they paid Doubs as long as this doesn't mean we are done at the position.
 
Not a huge fan of this signing, waiting on contract details. Hoping to be proven wrong.

I don't know about that. Doubs is being paid as a #2 WR. Not even top #2 WR money. His skill set and position seems to be more like Boutte than what Brown is. So I can still see a trade happening.

What it does do is take away a lot of the leverage from Roseman. Now the Pats are no longer trade for Brown or bust. They can go into the season with the receiver they have even if they are not as good as they would be with Brown instead of Doubs.

If the trade happens, my guess it will happen right before the draft. Roseman isn't going to give up draft value to trade after June 1st. That is where he will get the worst trade value.

Why would Pops "walk" if we replace Diggs with Doubs? Is he retiring? He is under contract.

As of now, Pops is still #5 and Chism is still #6.
