Patriots Rumor Tracker / FA Signings (Updated: Signings in OP - 4/7)

The Pats are not desperate yet. A trade for Brown is still not out of the question. There hasn't been many moves in the tampering period yet.
I can't see them giving up the Top of their Draft for A.J. Brown and I like him. I would do it for a pick this year and next.

I just want to give kudos to these teams and agents who are able to field all the offers and make a decision and put together a contract within four minutes of the tampering period starting. It’s really impressive work.
AI negotiations lol

I saw Michael Pittman Jr. is also getting paid $20M APY in a new extension. Wow lol

Not necessarily. Remember that Landry has major knee issues and is likely starting the year on the PUP if not the IR.
I hope he takes an injury settlement.

The Patriots need a real proven player at WR, you can't just bring this collection back without Diggs and draft.

That is asking for trouble.

Is the Colts GM aware they can extend their own players before free agency?

Chris Ballard is and has always been a moron. It is Indy. So they don't fire him. After the McDaniels disaster, he should have been canned.

Guess they're out of the Diggs market.

The Pats haven’t missed out on much yet. I wasn’t paying Pierce that much. Wait to see what the final trade compensation is for AJ Brown, otherwise sign some value vets and add in the draft.

I think Likely could have taken off here. Same way Diggs only played like half the snaps last year but super high target rate, I think Likely could have had that role as the move TE. Not same volume as Diggs of course, but I think his production would have gone up. That's a lot though for him and I wouldn't have paid him that much, though always tough to judge without seeing the guarantees and structure.

I’m sure there’s some plan. Don’t think this regime is stupid. And dumping Diggs with no replacement would be stupid.

Is the 49ers goiing to eat the Aiyuk dead money? I think at some point depending on the framework of the deal, I could accept that.
I know the risks and what he pulled off last 2 seasons after getting paid.

A little miffed they missed on Likely and Otton but otherwise I am not really too bothered, not too many key players gone yet and they got a great piece in Jones at a great value.

Quickly entering Brown or bust territory, which is a terrible place to be. Starting to expect Maye will get the Brady treatment where the team expects Maye to elevate crap players around him.
