Which WR do we target

OFC Mayer won't be franchised he's under contract ffs, he's also not quite up to the level of a JAG TE in the receiving department. Granted his blocking is great but a 4th and a 6th for a blocking TE?
I meant this year is his last year . Since he is a second round pick no 5 the year option.

So can we trade our 4th and 6th for mayer. Raiders might accept considering they might need to let him go next year. But again I donno if 4th will move the needle.

I wouldn't give up anything for Mayer.
Keep the picks and get 1 pass catching and one blocking TE in the draft.

If the Pats can get Pierce under $28M per year, they should do it.
If it’s 30, who cares, 2 million of cap space gets pissed away, unused or saved as a cushion every year anyway.

The Raiders have a $100M in cap space and 11 picks, they aren't likely to move their blocking TE. If anything I'd expect they quietly extend him and in a TE rich draft the Pats may well use one of their picks and come away with their own cost controlled TE

Flat no on Brown - too expensive, too much baggage, and too much extra capital.
Hope for Pierce - but very likely we get outbid, and that's okay if he's too costly.
Settle for Doubs - and I'd be thrilled with that. He shouldn't break the bank, but could end up a very good answer to a role that we need.

I don’t know why u just fork up the one and three for aj brown he is proven and u got him for four years … I like pierce but he is a go route hogan

I'm not trading a 1st round pick for anyone that's not a multi-time all-pro. You don't just piss those away. That's how you end up as the Colts.

Doubs is a product of the scheme is was running in GB. He’s a possession guy who slots in as a 3 which is what the Patriots already have a full roster of. He doesn’t move the needle at all.

What do you all think of Brian Thomas Jr? He’s been told he can leave Jax.

Great rookie year, terrible 2nd year.
A very recent 1st rd pick so what would Jax want in return?
I believe I read they were looking for a 1st, so the answer is no effin way!

I liked it all until I read settle for Doubs and you lost me.

If they do not get Pierce, I am a no on Brown and Doubs, I would like to see them draft Ted Hurst. I think Hurst can provide some of what both Brown and Pierce bring to the table not as a rook but in year 2 and beyond.

Edit: I think they will need to draft Hurst in the 2nd to get him, I do not think he lasts until 90 whatever our pick is, so for me I think the choice comes down to which order do we want OL, Edge and WR

Agree with this completely.

If they can't get Pierce then just draft 2 guys and develop them. I think the threat of Pierce and Williams can open up everything for their receivers, and that's what makes his presence so valuable. I don't think guys like Doubs threaten defenses any more than what they already have, it's like adding another Boutte.

Josina Anderson reports the market for free agent Alec Pierce “may be too much” for the Patriots, but that the 49ers “might pay it.”

Field-stretcher Pierce would be a strong fit in the Patriots’ offense, but they might believe he’s not enough of an upgrade on their current Kayshon Boutte/Mack Hollins tandem to justify more than $30 million per season. The 49ers, meanwhile, could be tired of waiting for former first-rounder Ricky Pearsall to stay healthy. Pierce is predictably generating wide interest after the Colts surprisingly let him reach the open market, but he is still most likely to end up with a cap-flushed, receiver-desperate team like the Titans.

The hidden yards cannot be ignored . In the comments section kayes points out most of these were deep shots too
