Patriots Rumor Alec Pierce question

A report indicating the Patriots are potentially in the market for this player, or have expressed or plant to express interest.
A Pierce is 6'3 211 nuff said! I'm sick of those smurf WR's.
He's also a solid blocker and does well when running Y and even Slot routes. The notion that he's a one dimensional player is very inaccurate.

He's WR friendly. On the other hand, Josh's system requires mind reading and Jedi mind tricks. In the end, Pierce will make that determination.

He's a terrible coach.

The point is Brown can line up as an X or a Z and be more of a possession receiver. He more versatile than Pierce. But again, I'm not advocating for Brown over Pierce.
Ok but I just don’t get that as an advantage. We have other receivers.

Browns has a career catch rate of 62% on an adot of 11.8
His teams passing offenses have been ranked below 20 in 5 of his 7 years and 9 and 16 the other 2.
I don’t think turning our offense into one that revolves around AJ Brown and throwing to him 8-10 times a game would be a good thing.

Reading coverage is not mind reading it’s football.
Given the choice of running routes and hoping they are in the wrong defense or having the ability to adjust my route to coverage so I can get the ball if I’m a wr that’s an easy choice.

We are talking about night life, taxes and predictions by people who are just guessing like we are.
How about a hard working kid wanting to play for a coach who stresses that exact trait and a great locker room atmosphere.
A young QB who is the best deep ball passer in the league. An OC who will play to his strengths and put him in good situations. His College coach who is best friends with Vrabel.

He said he wanted a stable QB, contending and successful franchise. He also said he wanted to be more involved in the offense. Chargers have Allen and McConkey who will demand a lot of touches.

I think we have a good shot but money and a few days will tell the whole story. Just my take

Name one WR that couldnt play here then went on to have a great post NE career.

Because all the examples people love to bring up, like Chad Johnson, Reggie Wayne, or Joey Galloway were out of the league after having failed to pick up this apparently impossible playbook that NE has used.

If the Chargers want him they probably get him if offers are close.

LA vs Boston weather isn’t close.
If it's weather that makes the difference with him, I don't want him.

There were no draft picks that succeeded as well. It's a complicated offense.

Regarding the veterans, all of those you named were completely cooked physically. You forgot to mention Torry Holt as well.

And which of those failed rookie Wrs went on to have great careers elsewhere?

Exactly.

Its greatly overrated on how difficult NEs system is.

Fact is alot of WRs that were still in a playing age, had their best year in their entire career in NE. Welker, Branch, Lafell, Reche Caldwell, Moss (many great seasons but he still holds a record for his 07 season in NE), Chris Hogan, David Givens (yes injuries ended his career but in 5 games as a starter for the Titans he had 100 yards receiving.)

The only WR I could find that outperformed their NE years was Jabar Gaffney and Brandon Lloyd. But they both outperformed playing for Josh McDaniels in the same NE system.

Any player who makes his decision about where to play based on the nightlife instead of the football has his priorities in the wrong order.

Pretty soon he’ll be doing nightlife instead of football.

Is that what you want?

Hit the gym. Increased muscle mass helps you metabolize ethanol. It’s a classic rookie mistake. You let yourself go and next thing you know you’re out of the league.

Agreed.

I grew up in Maine, left at 27 and have been in the south ever since. We take the kids to Maine every summer but I’d never move back. Too cold, not much to do, high taxes.

While the South has become “home” I’ll admit that in my travels I’ve found plenty of places that I’d live in before going back to NE.
I grew up in Augusta ME, left at 18, and only went back during college. I used to say I grew up in rural Maine, but I have been told that saying rural was not necessary. I was offered a full college "tuition and board" scholarship to UMaine Orono, but I turned it down and left.

I love Portland, especially the old port for the seafood restaurants, go to streetandcompany.net, but it is too cold and the taxes are too high, like you say. But my grandkids love the snow and cold, it is just that you and I are getting old.

If you have never read the book, The Beans of Egypt Maine, you have missed out. I could divorce my wife, but she would still be my sister!!

Nothing like lobster, steamed clams, and fish caught in the morning and served that afternoon. There is really nothing like it.

Boston or LA
99/100 26 year old males will choose LA

Moved to SC to an active style community. Swim 1 1/2 miles, 6 days/week
It seems to be doing nothing for my ethanol. But I’m starting to be eye candy to the old geezers. They all want to make me tapioca pudding
