I don't think that's the case with Pop IMO.Both are excellent is small space, both are really good at finding the soft spot in zones.

But again, none of them did anything in their first 4 years.Welker IMO was the best regular season slot WR we had.. routinely putting up 100 plus catch seasons... Edelman separates from him due to his postseason performances.. Troy was amazing but played in a era where running the ball was priority..
He has had a down couple of years (injured for a third of 2024), but was a very good TE before that. I didn't realize he isn't even 30 yet (turns 30 July 3rd). Might be a good short term pick up.
Pop a nice gadget player who was the spark amongst some bad patiots teams his first two seasons.. he had struggles as a starting slot earlier in the season.. he rebounded and made huge plays at times this season.. Wes Welker was primary a ST player and was traded for and unlocked his full potential.. Brown a 8th rounder prospect that morphed into a tough SOB and consummate patriots player.. Jules a former QB undersized and made the team as a STs player.. as purely stats and regular season performances Wes has my vote..But again, none of them did anything in their first 4 years.
In fact, Demario has been better than all 3 of them.
So... what are you saying here in response? LOL.. I guess theat as per usual I agree with you..So... what are you saying here in response? LOL
There are reports coming out that the Patriots have a verbal agreement with Pierce. I'll take it with a grain of salt because it's social media, but they got the Diggs release right so we will see?
I was sort of hoping releasing Diggs post franchise tag deadline meant they were in on Pierce. But I’m sure there are similar rumors floating around a number of teams
I agree with @Zuma , Pop can not find an opening in a zone to save his life. McDaniels used Pop to beat man coverage or on the move, either way it was a fixed route/assignment, not an adjustment to a defensive zone. What is it about Diggs and Pop that make them unlike the slots the Patriots want? Both are excellent is small space, both are really good at finding the soft spot in zones.
I am not a Mac Jones fan, as you know. But Douglas in prior years sat down in zone. He was not a downfield threat. He was the guy that moved the sticks. He excelled at it.I agree with @Zuma , Pop can not find an opening in a zone to save his life. Pop has been as good as Edelman in his first three years, Welker on the other hand improved every year including 650+ yards in his 3rd year and over 1000 yards in his 4th year. Pop will not have over 1000 yards in his 4th year, no where near. Pop will be gone in 2027.
Douglas does not "sit down in zones". Douglas does "sit down". There is a difference.I am not a Mac Jones fan, as you know. But Douglas in prior years sat down in zone. He was not a downfield threat. He was the guy that moved the sticks. He excelled at it.
We have a different kind of offense now. We know Maye is looking way downfield and by design.
I personally saw Douglas running right through the zone trying to hit the Home Run.I am not a Mac Jones fan, as you know. But Douglas in prior years sat down in zone. He was not a downfield threat. He was the guy that moved the sticks. He excelled at it.

He was a slot guy a few years ago and did well finding the open spaces. We have a totally different offenseDouglas does not "sit down in zones". Douglas does "sit down". There is a difference.
I do not agree. Sorry. I am not trying to be obstinate. He was a slot guy a few years ago and did well finding the open spaces. We have a totally different offense
And who did that this year?I do not agree. Sorry. I am not trying to be obstinate.
Pop does not see zones like Welker and Edelman, Pop does not see zone defenses at all. What Pop does well is man-to-man or an end around, or similar, where he completes a fixed role that takes advantage of his quickness and speed. Pop has exceptional athleticism. Intuition is not Pop's strength. I love the guy and his athleticism is off the charts. Previously Pop would sit, but he was not adjusting to a zone defense like a typical McDaniels/Pats slot would.
DJ Moore is a totally Bills signing. A WR name people have heard of, but in reality...Watch DJ Moore have 1,300 yards with Josh Allen.. the wait continues for us..
Allen and Buffalo was robbed in that Denver playoffs game. Allen had no problems moving the Football against Denver. I applaud this move by Buffalo: now the Patriots need to make a similar move @ WR.DJ Moore is a totally Bills signing. A WR name people have heard of, but in reality...
Robbed by Josh Allen's 4 turnovers? Yes.Allen and Buffalo was robbed in that Denver playoffs game. Allen had no problems moving the Football against Denver. I applaud this move by Buffalo: now the Patriots need to make a similar move @ WR.
Your right.. even with the TOs it took last second heriocs for Denver seal a win... I couldn't keep denying it.. Josh Allen is best QB in the league there really is no way to stop him... he stops himself..Robbed by Josh Allen's 4 turnovers? Yes.
