NFL News Rams trade for Chiefs CB Trent McDuffie

Share the latest NFL news from around the league here.
ACLs have come a long way since 2008. Diggs returned in 9 months and he is WR who uses his legs every play. Defying the Odds: Stefon Diggs’ Rapid ACL Recovery Through the Lens of Duke Ortho Expertise | Duke Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Mahomes had surgery immediately post injury on 12/15/25. The end of August 2026 adds up to be 8.5 months. Mahomes will wear a brace the same as Brady did.

KC will add a RB with a high pick and a WR. They are still the team to get past for a SB shot.

Possible, but not something to rely upon. Neither is kc being able to replace their newly created holes at cb and rt while also being able to upgrade the team they had last year that was not a playoff team.

Chris jones is another key here, hes turning 32 and production has dipped the last couple years. He was a major part of their dominance. Its alot of assumptions going into kc being a top contender again next year. Playoff team maybe if mahomes has a swift recovery.

I wonder if the Chiefs will beat the “haul” we got for trading the McDuffie pick to the Chiefs, (Cole Strange, Bailey Zappe, and Marte Mapu). Actually I think they are already winners based on the original trade with the contributions from McDuffie compared to our “haul”!

The guy the Pats should have picked instead of trading down and drafting Cole Strange gets traded for a first, 5th, and 6th round picks
Why do we care about drafts from years ago and carry that pain like it is fresh. Do we want to live in 2022 with all the interesting things going on around the team? You can play the what if game for almost every team in every draft. Part of why the Drake Maye now is because they sucked at drafting and the team got terrible.

The Chiefs has also had plenty of misses as has been noted. They got cute drafting Clyde Edwards Hilliare instead of Jonathon Taylor or Tee Higgins. All teams swing and miss in the first round. For awhile, great QB’s and a timely defense can carry you through crummy drafts. And eventually, it catches up with you, especially when injuries hit and you have no depth.

Some people feel the worst mistake you can name is to miss an opportunity to complain and criticize.

The Rams' secondary is the reason they didn't go to the Super Bowl specifically their #1 CB. So it makes sense they would want McDuffie.

Trent McDuffie is a sidegrade at best.
Chiefs getting a first round pick for him as a bailout is insane luck.

The rams were the second best team in the NFL. They are the very definition of being one player away. These used a 2nd to get a top corner to fill their need.

And posters think that they overpaid? Sure, they paid more than others would have. That is because he is worth more to the rams than to anyone else.

You have no idea what you are talking about. When McDuffie was drafted, he played heavy zone. We are man. He had no fit here. He had a radically different physical profile than what our defense looked for at the time.

This is no different than the NFL naysayers preaching that the Pats and Brady were done and on the decline.

NE just kept making the post season and winning Super Bowls.

Andy Reid made similar moves when he traded Tyreek Hill for a bunch of picks, let his LT Orlando Brown and most of his great secondary walk. When your QB takes up a massive percentage of your annual salary cap expenditure, you need a steady pipeline of young cheap talent in draft picks... now Reid simply has to draft and team build well.

Don't listen to anyone who says the salary cap is not a constraint. They always push that narrative when a team is free spending like crazy, the same people are never around when said team hits rock bottom and is salary cap hell. They're off talking about the next team that's spending like crazy...
