If by this you mean the $400K is part of the 2026 cap and their 2026 cash budget, I do not dispute that. What I am disputing the Patriots have already decided what their 2026 cash budget will be. I also dispute Hollins' $400K was taken from another player's 2026 compensation. Therefore, I dispute your conclusion of "In other words they gave it to him instead of someone else, not over and above."

I’m not going to argue semantics.
The money was part of the player comp pool, the statement that it was given to him instead of someone else means it come out of the money they have to spend on players so they now have 400k less to spend on other players rather than the implied idea that this means they aren’t cheap because they didn’t extra money

THOSE shoes go on HER. I suppose he could buy them as a gift but the implication would be pretty obvious. (Also a popular Hispanic truism states if you buy a woman shoes, she'll wear them to walk away from you.)

Well, I have to say it, but Andy, by choosing to engage with Miguel, the acknowledged NEP & NFL cap master, in an argument about THE CAP, either has BRASS BALLS or his ADDICTION TO ARGUING knows NO BOUNDS and overwhelms whatever shards of common sense he ever had going for him.
