I can’t fault Josh McDaniels for anything other than not running the ball more. In the passing game Maye wasn’t seeing the field right. It didn’t matter what McDaniels called.
There was a tweet somewhere about how Maye had really struggled with cover 6 situationally in the past. He just hadn't seen much of it. Might be a factor.

But he was not as accurate in the playoffs, for the most part, as he'd been in the regular season. Some of that might be level of competition, some might be youth, some might be injury-related. Don't think we will know any aspects of this until next season.

Regardless, heckuva season. For him and the team.

Zo is NOT happy Campbell didn't speak after the game. Thats telling, he is a team employee and a former player. Said it made him look like a baby. He is 100 percent correct. Face paint, all the talk and then he can't face the music.
Look a baby is being kind I probably would hide too. We'll know how good Campbell is next year with that brutal First Place schedule.

Personally, I don't care until we see how he responds on the field. First the field, everything else second. If it takes a pouty press conference for him to turn into something special (obviously I'm not saying one causes the other), he can pout all TF he wants in a presser.

But if he can't overcome, then, welp, he said it best: if he hears his name every game, he's gonna be fired.

It's not surprising. He literally had the worst day of any player in the league at his position on the biggest stage and is 22. I'd be kinda touchy lol.

I'd love to see him grin and bear it, but alas. It's field first for me. He has a lot of time to think hard about this game, also a lot of time to move TF on, man TF up, get some strength, and prove everyone wrong.

They ran the ball as much as they could. They got stuck in long downs more often than not.

Running became unsustainable at some point when they had to throw.

They simply couldn't win with this roster without Maye playing at MVP level. They do not have the guys offense to do that.

Maye hid alot of those deficiencies.

It worked: they took the points all night. We were down by 9 but it felt like 60.
They pulled a "Patriots on Denver" trick. Once the Patriots did nothing on the first drive in the 3rd, I knew it was over. That is when it became clear that absolutely zero adjustments were made.

For many years, the Patriots would struggle at the start of SB's. But you always knew they would get better/at least put up a few TD's as the game went on.

Maye is accurate when he is confident. His game is going to either be totally on point with surgical precision, or it's gonna look rough. He threaded a needle in a very special way as this offense rode a razor-thin edge of explosion over everything. Cover 6 is a tough cookie if you're wet behind the ears and is probably a whole different beast in the NFL with the best of the best playing mind games on you.

He has a good checklist of things he needs to get better at. And when he does, he'll have that confidence and find his touch.

Still couldn't believe what I was watching.

But...but we don't need no stinking WR or TE.

We passed on 3rd & 3, 4, and 1. We ran on 3rd & 5 once. Not running on 3rd down against a team that is getting pressure with 4 DL is a recipe for disaster.

We actually need a number 1 and number 2 receiver. Bare minimum.

And two new TE.

This team needs to address the offense in the same way they addressed the defense last off-season.

They couldn't run. You know that right? They could run barely better than they could throw.

Drake was horrendous but the guys didn't help his cause at all by dropping balls that hit their damn hands.

If you read the exchange and that’s you conclusion you are likely mentally challenged.
Oh look here’s Ring 6 arguing with someone and acting like a know it all arrogant tool AGAIN!

It was clear what he meant. You were just being obnoxious as usual

I Henderson run up the middle that lost four yards that broke the will of the Offense was a great call.
You mean the one where the defender was pushing the lineman into Maye when he handed it off? Yeah great execution on that one.

Jekyll and Hyde maybe. Like a more talented Joe Flacco?

You hope he isn't a Brett Favre where any pass could go 60 yards for a TD or 30 the other way for a pick six.

This is what bothers me. Yes the line ,playcalling etc all were issues but Maye couldnt slow down himself.his interception in the middle of the field was catastropic
I felt josh and maye both missed a kevin faulk, james white, edelman type player to get quick throwsout. but i am not sure that is may's game either.

Let's be honest, Maye had receivers open for quick completions that didn't put himself in harms way but he was looking for throws down the field. The most disappointing part about last night aside from Will putting on probably the worst OL performance in SB history, was the low IQ plays by Drake.

PatsFans remember that play the ball had nothing on it he wasn't even hit. He was disingenuous about his shoulder Maybe that's why held on to the football so much. Regular Season Maye zipped that one in there: the WR was open.

Dude that video should have it's own thread: that was a noodle arm Mac Jones pass.

Steve Young was just on Rich Eisen.

Young implied that Maye is injured.

So.......who else had a preseason "Pats win Superbowl" bet that they regret not cashing out?

My wife bet $9.00 at beginning of year. I think she could have cashed out for ~$200.00
