This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.
At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.
Lastly, we have never allowed promoting the use of any illegal streaming. This is illegal and will be enforced by copyright holders, which puts this site at risk. DO NOT POST ANY LINKS to those platforms.
This also means, there absolutely cannot be any mention these platforms, spaces, special characters, etc. - so do not get creative in trying to work around this request.
If you do you will have your account suspended.
I do not have the means to deal with legal issues and have already been contacted previously, so this absolutely needs to be adhered to. If you see any illegal links, please report them so a mod can remove them.
We will know on offense and defense how this game will go on the first drive. If the D gets run all over, or the offense goes 3 and out and looks horrific, it might be a long day.
Again, the offense can't play like it did in Denver in the first half. They just can't.
See I disagree. You had 2 weeks to prepare. I believe they are the better team with better coaching etc. If they are in a say, 3rd and 5 and end up throwing a shallow crosser for 3 yards or hit the outlet for 2....thats not good enough. Scripted plays for the Pats should lead to multiple scores against this team imo.
I’ve got a little tradition since i’ve been here of posting in the Super Bowl game day thread and thanking Ian, the mods, and everyone for making this a great experience. So i’m doing so again. And i’m still stunned that this team has had so much success that this could even be a tradition. 12th one and i’ve been fortunate enough to watch them all.
Feeling a little bittersweet because this is the first one without my parents. I remember mom forcing me to take a bath at halftime against the Bears, and my sitting there desperately trying to figure out how they can come back. Coming home after SB 36 was a surreal experience; they were usually asleep at that time but not that night, they were as floored as i was that they won. Mom was so upset about last season but was intrigued about Maye; sad that she never got to see this season. Dad passed away in 2023 and i came home to turn on the TV having completely forgotten about the game, and seeing the last second field goal against the Broncos. Thankfully we were still able to land Maye despite that.
Thrilled that my daughter is able to fully understand what’s going on now and is appreciating this. And that I don’t have to leave the party at halftime again like the prior 3 times to put her asleep. Watched the 2nd half of those games on delay.
For the first tome since 36 i have no expectations; will be disappointed if they lose sure, but still a great unexpected season and nobody’s legacy gets tarnished. Very happy the future is bright as long as Vrabel is here and is of sound faculties.
I will be skipping the rest of this thread and will rejoin in the post game thread. Enjoy the game everyone!
Good news. Magnus Carlsen (the Tom Brady of chess) won the Speed Chess Championship an hour ago. This is an obvious omen that guarantees a Patriots blow out victory. Place your bets and thank me later.
