2026 Senior Bowl

How has the Senior Bowl changed my thinking? Not greatly I'm sad to say. It didn't feel like a particularly good SB this year although I feel that was partly down to the coverage - I thought we saw less of the one-on-ones than usual for example.

However, here are what has changed for me.

1. TJ Parker has proven he is worthy of a first round pick. Although, the more I thought about his performance, almost every victory came through power with little variety. That power though. Different class.

2. Zion Young and Derrick Moore established themselves as my EDGE 3 and 4 although I'm not sure in which order. Both were very good.

3. Max Iheanachor is a borderline first rounder. My OT 2 behind Freeling although I need to watch Blake Miller again.

4. Kyle Louis and Jacob Rodriguez are excellent middle round options for linebacker. Both showed themselves to have the athleticism and coverage chops to justify their picks.

5. Ted Hurst confirmed himself as a binky. He's terrific.

6. There were a few WRs who justified themselves as interesting day 3 picks - Josh Cameron, Reggie Virgil, Lewis Bond, Tyren Montgomery and Cyrus Allen all looked promising but not to the point where I'm banging the table for them. Maybe good combines change that.

7. Aside from TCU safety Bud Clark, I don't think any DB really set themselves apart.

8. Forgot DT. Lee Hunter and Caleb Banks absolutely proved themselves as first round DTs and I think Banks jumped Hunter. We don't need them, but they should absolutely be justified as BPA picks that wouldn't upset me.

9. The interior OL was a little meh. Some good performances but no-one Grey Zabel-ed it.

10. Kaelon Black and Mike Washington confirmed my view that they are the two best value RBs in class. Sadly, Adam Randall was pretty awful.

Manx, this is magnificent!

I feel things are becoming clearer. Some thoughts:

1. TJ Parker has proven he is worthy of a first round pick. Although, the more I thought about his performance, almost every victory came through power with little variety. That power though. Different class.

100%. Parker has a very high floor, and his power stands out.

2. Zion Young and Derrick Moore established themselves as my EDGE 3 and 4 although I'm not sure in which order. Both were very good.

Malachi Lawrence is EDGE3 for me after Mesidor and Parker (unless Bain or Faulk somehow slip). Then Young and Moore. Like both guys violence and motor.

3. Max Iheanachor is a borderline first rounder. My OT 2 behind Freeling although I need to watch Blake Miller again.

I've had Iheanachor rated highly for months, he's moved into my 1st round group right behind Freeling. Great size and length, amazing footwork (soccer background), plays with a mean streak. Young, lots of upside. Will Campbell plus Freeling/Iheanachor would set Drake Maye up for the next 10 years.

4. Kyle Louis and Jacob Rodriguez are excellent middle round options for linebacker. Both showed themselves to have the athleticism and coverage chops to justify their picks.

Yup, I'm glad you are finally catching on to these guys.

Really like Louis as a chess piece. Rodriguez reminds me of a budget Lavonte David, who I called the best defensive player in the 2012 draft.

5. Ted Hurst confirmed himself as a binky. He's terrific.

100%. Probably my personal favorite WR prospect for the Pats after Chris Bell.

6. There were a few WRs who justified themselves as interesting day 3 picks - Josh Cameron, Reggie Virgil, Lewis Bond, Tyren Montgomery and Cyrus Allen all looked promising but not to the point where I'm banging the table for them. Maybe good combines change that.

Very intrigued by some of these guys, along with DeZhaun Stribling and Jeff Caldwell. Very deep WR group.

Cameron a budget Chris Bell. Caldwell a budget Charlie Becker. Cyrus Allen, depending on testing, shows Julian Edelman "break their ankles" quickness. Can't wait to see his 3-cone.

7. Aside from TCU safety Bud Clark, I don't think any DB really set themselves apart.

Dillon Thieneman, Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, Zakee Wheatley. Treydan Stukes as a nickle/safety. Kyle Louis as a hybrid. Michael Taaffe as the S analog of Jacob Rodriguez. Maybe Louis Moore. Clark very intriguing if he slips to day 3.

8. Forgot DT. Lee Hunter and Caleb Banks absolutely proved themselves as first round DTs and I think Banks jumped Hunter. We don't need them, but they should absolutely be justified as BPA picks that wouldn't upset me.

Those are the 2. Peter Woods and Kayden McDonald both 1st round worthy, but not as disruptive. Banks will be ling gone, unless medicals are a major red flag.

9. The interior OL was a little meh. Some good performances but no-one Grey Zabel-ed it.

Agreed.

Kage Casey needed time at IOL. Not a tackle at the next level.

Ioane and Pregnon will go 1st round, worth consideration at 31/32. Bisontis 2nd round. Not sold on anyone else, like a few tackle conversions, but not nearly as much as Austin Siereveld/Carter Smith/Cayden Green.

10. Kaelon Black and Mike Washington confirmed my view that they are the two best value RBs in class. Sadly, Adam Randall was pretty awful.

Jardarian Price only guy who really excites me, maybe Coleman, but they will go higher than I would take a RB. Agree these are probably best values - not flashy, but lunch pail guys.

Again, great stuff.

1. Thanks.

2. Lol.

However, here are what has changed for me.

1. TJ Parker has proven he is worthy of a first round pick. Although, the more I thought about his performance, almost every victory came through power with little variety. That power though. Different class. I'm still not sold completely on his motor being Vrabel worthy.

2. Zion Young and Derrick Moore established themselves as my EDGE 3 and 4 although I'm not sure in which order. Both were very good. Double Check.

3. Max Iheanachor is a borderline first rounder. My OT 2 behind Freeling although I need to watch Blake Miller again. Check.

4. Kyle Louis and Jacob Rodriguez are excellent middle round options for linebacker. Both showed themselves to have the athleticism and coverage chops to justify their picks. Double Check.

5. Ted Hurst confirmed himself as a binky. He's terrific. Up Check.

6. There were a few WRs who justified themselves as interesting day 3 picks - Josh Cameron, Reggie Virgil, Lewis Bond, Tyren Montgomery and Cyrus Allen all looked promising but not to the point where I'm banging the table for them. Maybe good combines change that. Day 3 WR Check.

7. Aside from TCU safety Bud Clark, I don't think any DB really set themselves apart. Check.

9. The interior OL was a little meh. Some good performances but no-one Grey Zabel-ed it. Group Check.

10. Kaelon Black and Mike Washington confirmed my view that they are the two best value RBs in class. Sadly, Adam Randall was pretty awful. Triple Check.

I can see that. He's definitely someone who needs a good interview.

Hunter and Banks getting into that 1st round along with McDonald and Woods would help push some prospects down to us.

Glad you specified 32.

I like all of those except for Howell.

I would add Iheanachor, Banks, and Hunter. The last 2 too good to ignore, would allow for a ton of creative disruption.
Included Howell because he’s good at the one thing we need, rushing the passer. His lack of length is concerning though. Maybe more of a round 2 option if we go G/T at 32

Well I'm banging the WR table now.

Anyone watching?

RB Ted Washington got practice player of the week - the award Grey Zabel won last week.

Bad drop by Sam Roush.
