2026 Draft: Interior OL

Guard at the next level but will to add strength. He’s been posted above in the thread already. Met with him at the Shrine Bowl.

Duke Manyweather is a big name in OL circles. He coaches up some OLs to get ready for the draft so maybe Hecht is a client but he says Sam Hecht is OC-1.

Jalen Farmer

Strong & Long

Just a reminder from above, he has 34.5" arms and was the fastest timed OL at the Senior Bowl (although I don't necessarily see that athleticism on his tape).

I do enjoy some of these clips though. He has a strong base and is a people mover in the run game.

He's the RG (#52)

Sam Hecht of Kansas State is a center in the NFL but watch his movement here from LT

I'm not as big a fan of Ioane as some. Limited athleticism and movement skills. I think I prefer Pregnon, now that my OT to LG converts have all stayed in school for 2026.

Of course, I am in the minority about keeping Jared Wilson at LG in 2026.
@mayoclinic I am curious why you want them to keep Wilson at LG? I ask because he was pretty bad in totality, he was a decent pass blocker but his run blocking was abhorrent. I am strongly in the camp of sign a FA LG, my preference is David Edwards and let Wilson and Bradburry fight it out at Center in TC.

Campbell was decent to good at run blocking but I feel like Wilson at LG made running to left a crap shoot and remove some plays from the playbook. Just the ramblings of an old-ish man.

Edit: with the salary cap increasing and creative ways that teams can move "money" around I know that Edwards is a pipe dream for me.

We could let Onwenu go to pay for Edwards and then draft a RG (or two). Onwenu is serviceable, but too immobile for my taste. If I had to choose Edwards or Onwenu, I would go with Edwards (plus it screws with the Bills).

We would have Campbell at LT, and Edwards at LG, Bradbury/Wilson at C, rookie at RG, and Moses at RT. Hopefully we identify a rookie at RT to learn behind Moses. This approach staggers the rookies in-between veterans which I think is preferred.

Problem is: the team that is currently playing in the superbowl thought Wilson was the starting LG, even after Ben Brown outplayed him. So the reality is, we have no clue what they are seeing.

The same thing with Onwenu, he might be a little overpaid but that can be reworked, but the reality is the stats are showing he is a top G in the league.

But i agree, ideally Wilson moves to C and youi move on from Onwenu.

I agree about his limited mobility but, I think Owenu has been very good this year. There have been lapses in play at times but no OLman is great 100% of the time. Owenu has only had 3-4 penalties this year and allowed 20 some pressures, he has also been good in the run game.

Below is a link to an article I found outlining how the Pats can free up a lot of cap space with some restructures and extensions to move "money" into the future.

I agree that we need to bring in rookies for the right side to get into Marrones program and start learning I just don't think we need starters right now. If the link above is accurate it would be possible to keep Owenu and sign Edwards.

Our running game has been good at times, but imo the line of Campbell-Edwards-Bradburry or Wilson-Owenu-Moses could be above average all the time.

But moving Wilson to fight in TC with Bradburry risks damaging Wilson confidence.

That link was really interesting.

I've come around on Onwenu not being an obvious cut because I've come to agree with this:

The Patriots wouldn’t be playing in the Super Bowl if not for the play of the right side of their offensive line, and Onwenu has been the anchor.

Of those four options, my preferences in order.

1. Milton Williams - He's young enough where an extension would make sense. He's proved himself.

2. Onwenu - Still young enough to lock up the RG position. He's had a good year.

3. I'm less excited about Davis and Diggs extensions although the idea of Diggs retiring as a Patriot is appealing. I need him to have a good SB though because I've been a little concerned about his playoff performance. I think the Davis, Landry and Diggs money is probably ear-marked for Gonzo and Maye extensions though.

Brown has been in the League for 3+ years. He's 6 years older than Wilson. That's what they're seeing.
