Take this article: he says he should've taken the sack because he had pressure in his face. He blames Vederian Lowe for triggering the outcome of the play. In reality, he had PLENTY of time to throw. He didn't need to take a sack. Gesicki was wide open. This is an example of refusing to be a leader, account for one's own actions, and instead scapegoating your own teammates.

The guy that beat Lowe was literally less than 2 yards away from Jones when the ball came out. I don't think Jones said it caused the outcome of the play but there definitely was pressure.

The 9ners bungled the QB position as well, early on. having 3 QBs at one point a top draft pick, an often injured QB in Jimmy G that has gotten more contracts than any QB I can remember.. they took a chance on Purdy, PROPERLY developed him, surrounded him with real NFL talent and next thing you know they are in the superbowl. Mac should have pushed to be traded after his first season I'm sure Kraft nixed there idea. Just best for him and the organization to as you said " cut bait" .

It's the QB, the most important position in sports. He's unwilling to do the things that must be done, he can't lead, he's a soulsucker who stole the entire team's passion.

Yeah, that’s not what happened. They had no idea what they had in Purdy. All their QB were injured and they had to play him. They didn’t surrounded him with talent. It was already there.
