What should the punishment be for the Eagles?

Is it wrong to be happy that Philthy lost?
Is it wrong to be happy they are 4-11-1 in the worst division in NYFL history?
Is it wrong to be happy that they went offside with 2 minutes left to seal the loss?
Is it wrong to be having so much fun at their expense?
If that's wrong then I don't want to be right.

I'm old and stupid....I can't figure out what the login "CamtoHarryGOAT" signifies. Anybody have an idea? Is this supposed to an insult?

Actually, Philly is in better shape than us. If they can find a real coach, they already have a QB, and now, a chance to draft a stud #1 WR. Two things you cannot win without in the NFL and two things we do not have. WE are a 2 -3 win team that managed to win 7 games. Now we pick in the middle of the draft which makes our chances of getting a decent QB almost zero. Our six Superbowls are absolutely meaningless today, in the 2021 season and beyond. We are not going to contend anytime soon. It is simply logical to place the long term future ahead of winning meaningless games, That doesn't make us lesser fans as is the sentiment I see here so often.
And rooting for the team to lose and rooting for them to tank are two different things. I think most people here would agree. I just wanted them to lose in order to make the path to rebuilding easier.
And for all your histrionics the difference between ten and fifteen could easily be the difference between getting a stud or another dud. This win was not inconsequential. Maybe the difference between getting a stud #1 WR that we desperately need and being to forced to draft a guard or tackle to get value with our pick. We absolutely need to get an All Pro with this first round pick. We've had too many consecutive bad drafts. A top ten pick gave us the best chance to do that. Actually, a top five pick did, but that ship sailed with disasterous "wins" against Baltimore and the Rams.
Philly is a mess, and in cap hell

And their loss screwed the Giants

And their loss screwed the Giants

I try to avoid the petty conspiracy thinking but the Giants-Philly rivalry is as full of hate as any I've seen, and nobody really hates the WFT anymore (they are too pitiful). Ensuring that the Giants didn't win the division...hmmm.

Lovie and the Bucs did this a few years ago when they were leading at the half against the Saints in week 17 and pulled their starters. They then landed their prize a few months later: Jameis Winston.

I can just imagine what 345 Park Avenue would do if the Pats lost game on purpose this year. Probably best that a team on the radar for cheating doesn't do anything that could be interpreted that way.

If anyone in the NFL deserves to be in the playoffs it's Smith. Although his team has a losing record and are still getting a home game. The NFL should not allow teams with losing records in the playoffs while other teams with winning records are shut out.

I want some of what you are smoking. It's obviously so strong it's rendered yoiu completely incapable of mounting a reasonable arugument to my factual post.

I agree with some of your post and disagree with other parts of it. But I don't think you understand the difference between factual and opinion.

Just because you believe strongly in your opinion does not make it factual. Unfortunately, this distinction is being missed by most people these days.

Probably not. Despite winning only four games - after they seemingly had a division title gift wrapped for them early in the season when Dak Precott was injured - the Eagles are about $70 million over the cap, second worst in the NFL.

Typically when a team is in that bad of a cap situation it is due to going all in to win now (like the Saints), rather than going all in for a top-five draft pick.

I'll respond to this as I always do:

Win your division
Win your conference
Win the Super Bowl

Wild Card teams should be on their knees giving thanks for the chance to be in the post-season. I say drop all WC slots - keep making the playoffs meaningful.

The Pats are in way better shape than the Eagles because we have a winning culture.

The Iggles tank games and accept losing.

We all saw the Sunday Night Football tank job from Pedersen:

Doug Pederson on QB change: "I was coaching to win" - ProFootballTalk

What do you all think the punishment should be? Simply moving them back to 9th in draft order (by all accounts the loss moved them up to 6th) isn't enough. I think this kind of misconduct requires stripping a first round pick.

Thoughts?
Before I decide how they should be punished, you have to first let me know precisely what it is they did wrong.....
