lets package the 7th we received from the Bucs along with Sanu and send them down to Tampa
Bucs GM is too smart to sign this past his prime bum. As far as ours is concerned...

What a disaster letting Brady and Gronk get away. If Brady stayed Gronk would have returned to get one more. They will will instead go to Tampa Bay. Wild card is Bellichick proves to be insanely so good that he pulls it off with a bunch of nobody's which is his specialty and I don't put it past him.

11-5 when he was the QB. Also 3-1 when Brady was suspended.

So Brady’s absence clearly doesn’t mean this team is falling off a cliff. BB will make sure of that.

Not the example I would use. That was a 16-0 team the year before.

Regarding stidham we need to build and play like we did in Brady’s early years. Strong OL, solid run game, strong defense.

I hope the Bucs lose every game they play. I’m willing to bet a lot of these “So excited I can root for an NFC team now” people have zero actual ties to New England. Probably cheer for the Patriots and whatever team LeBron is playing for this week.

Yeah...it’s exactly like LeBron

You know that cassel was a legit solid nfl qback, right. He led KC to the playoffs and was selected to the pro bowl. He went 11-5 with a stacked team that won 16 games the prior year. And the Pats had a losing record against playoff teams that year.

With a subpar coach they probably look more like the Colts did when they lost Manning.

Especially the run game. When it clicks like it did in the Super Bowl run it’s one of the best in the league. Can’t hurt Stidham’s development. Assuming obviously the Patriots believe he’s the guy.

Just remember, Gronk (and TB) went to TB to have fun. As BB, Lombardi, Parcells, Walsh and others have proven, winning and fun don't necessarily coexist.

I doubt Brady falls into that category. He’s all business when it comes to winning. I’m sure Gronk will have fun wherever he is. Even more fun when he doesn’t have to be a jungle gym anymore for defenders that have to account for Godwin and Evans. It’s a perfect situation for both of them, especially if they draft a tackle and a RB in the first 2 rounds.
They are definitely are going to be a fun team to watch if it all comes together.

Kind of idiotic how the media is going to take the angle of who means more? Brady or BB?
Of course its going to be Brady because his team is not in just about full on rebuild mode like ours is. This has been coming for a long time and we’re just going to take our lumps that we should of taken 2 or 3 times already. Both were essential to the success here. Or should we call it an anomaly? Never been done and probably never will be again.

Brady was 10-6 the year after that.

Still shows that with Belichick this team isn’t falling off a cliff even without Brady. Same thing when people were predicting 0-4 when Brady was suspended.

This is the past 3 off seasons.

Brady*
Gronkowski*
Amendola
Flowers
Patterson*
Butler*
Solder
T Brown*
Van Noy
Collins*
M Brown
Lewis
Shelton
Dorsett

*pro bowler/all pro

They're not all stars but there are a lot of good players who have left in recent years and not all that many added in that same time period.
Let me get this straight. You’re saying that the reason Amendola, Flowers, Patterson, Brown blah blah blah left is because BB drove them off by being a prick? Dude, come on man. BB put most of those guys in positions to make more money than they ever dreamed! What have most of those guys done since leaving the Pats? Made millions of dollars and producing less. I wish I had that kind of an ******* in my life.

I have no problem with both Tom and Gronky leaving, and I understand both had issues playing for BB again, but for different reasons.

For Gronk I think the problem is more about the rigors, the mental stress, I think he feels he's always been underpaid even though he got that big money (at the time) upfront and he knows that, but considering the way all his injuries have been mismanaged at times and the fact he always put his body in the line of fire and gave 100%, I think he feels underappreciated.

For Tom, I think he was tired about saving BB's the GM azz every year and not getting some return or some help, recognition, money or anything in between. Seriously, BB has been fielding putrid offenses since the draft of Gronk and Hernandez and last year it was a shame.

Now not only his drafts are terrible but there's a cap aspect to it as well. The Pats found themselves in this offseason in cap hell with no QB signed. And now we are in this situation because they didn't have money to pay Brady (I still think money was not his main goal) and to sign receivers for him to throw the ball and that's the main reason he left.

Teams around the league are paying more money to their QB's and still able to sign good players.

There are many ways to build winning teams, spending in starters and throwing the depth on the toilet, the opposite of that, and a middle ground. BB has always choosen to spread the money all over the roster and you can't deny it worked out but you can't really have depth if you don't draft well. There's not enough money to pay for good 53 players if you don't have a bunch of them in rookie contracts. You have to have some organic depth created through draft. And that's where I think the Pats lost some track in the past couple of years resulting in last year roster and this years (pre-draft of course) roster that is now considered a bottom 5 in terms of talent.

I don't have any confidence in BB doing a great rebuild, he has many picks so he will hit a few of them of course but it is my opinion for a long time he should only coach and someone else should be the GM, it could be Caserio but with 100% autonomy, right now he's just a intern senior level.

The team you have been enjoying the past 20 years was built by that man you have no faith in. Not a single tanking season. Not a single 3-4 yr drought to rebuild on high picks and pricy free agents. Contenders. Champions. I know he isn’t perfect, and has made plenty of mistakes, but let’s pump the brakes a bit here.

Whether you wish Tom Brady good luck or not in his next career down in Tampa Bay you might very well see his new team playing in stadiums with no fans to root for their new QB and TE combo....in fact its likely at this point as this virus isn't going anywhere so imagine Bucs fans knowing that if Brady plays there 2 seasons they possibly won't see him on the field at the stadium for one of those years before he is done - that must suck ;).

With a very different team. You mean the superbowl championship team? You need some perspective son.

Gronk was done with BB. Gronk could have screwed with the Patriot's cap space if he wanted to, he had all the leverage. This is what BB could have possibly done.
From Brady's point of view, nobody has it any better. I dont think he has had a better talented group of weapons than he has now at Tampa. All the best to him.

Sorry to break it to you, but this team has a lot of holes, particularly at the most important position in football. QB.
i'm calling it now - The Patriots are going to draft Jacob Eason from Washington with one of their 3rd round picks or maybe trade up to get him in the 2nd - then the competition will go between Stidham and Eason for the starting job - both of which will need a year or two under thier belt, especially with a very mediocre WR/TE corps

This is all so sad. This sucks. Now I have two teams to root for. Hope (if we have football) they both meet in the Super Bowl. (by the way, there was a typo in my post, I corrected it.)

Hindsight 20/20 and all. Im certain nobody was thinking Super Bowl at the time.

I think I’ve proven that there’s reason to believe this team won’t fall off a cliff without Brady. If they do suck this year they were very likely going to suck if he was still here.

I’m not cheering for any team but the Patriots. Doesn’t matter who isn’t here.

Brady is clearly not the difference between 10+ wins and a top 5 pick in the draft. Matt Cassel proved that.

Belichick is though. And we still have him.

Your trolling really sucks.

Your trolling really sucks.

I think the logic that a 43 year old Brady is the one and only difference between a Super Bowl contending team and a team picking high in the draft next year like some are implying is really bizarre and kind of sucks in its own way. But we’re all entitled to our opinion.
