brady was going to LA all along
We will soon learn if Corporate Tom trumped Team Tom.
LA has 10 pro teams, several major college programs, and health conscious one percenters to support Brady’s next strip mall store front

Football....... meh

Patjew is back?

I officially quit this site.

I'm stewing on Kraft's statement about believing TB12 would, "Not be happy in the system." is very interesting.

Reading between the lines, I think Tom doesn't think the team has the offensive weapons he needs to be successful. Also, based on BB signing McCourty and franchising Thuney the past 24 hours leaves very little money to sign high priced wr's and a solid tight end. Tom probably assumed a repeat of 2019 and decided another team gives him a better chance of being successful. Just my guess.

Yep.

"System" can mean multiple things. How they spend. How they allocate talent. How BB runs the team. Tom tired of the "system"

All of you who wanted this hope you enjoy our .500 season.
With Tom and our weapons, I would have predicted us going 8-8 to 9-7.

Without Tom and the schedule we have, going 4-12 is more likely. In a way, the worse we do the better chances of quickly turning it around talent-wise. The downside the dramatic shift in culture but I have faith in the coaching staff to do a solid job if given the chance to develop a younger roster with high (rather than end of round) picks.

Anyone notice the site is slow since @Patjew came back?

Yeah good guess, they will throw a lot of $$ his way and his wife would like SoCal. from the POV of her business interest and syncs with his new venture.
His wife has always said she dislikes SoCal.

I dont think tom based his decision based on what BB did with mccourtty and thuney. it was probably decided much before that. if anything the pats made this move knowing that brady wanted to leave.

So now do the Patriots regress to being the team stuck in the middle of nowhere. The place that no one wants to go to? Brady was the only differnce between Foxboro and Buffalo!

No one really wants to live in Mass (Lord knows I got out as soon as I could), now add to that they fact that the Pats don't even play anywhere remotely near Boston. How are you going to get free agents to come and play in Foxboro? Sell them on the Olive Garden at Patriots Place? or the new casino a mile down the road?

Brady is leaving for a place with better weather and more media opportunites (I'm guessing the Chargers). But now the Pats no longer have Brady which basically was the only real drew to free agents. I'm sure guys are lining up to play for BB who just showed the greatest QB in the history of the NFL the door.

I don't think you guys fully understand how bad it is going to get for the Pats. I was there at 1-15, in January, freezing on aluminum benches.

So ****ing sad, damn it.

Bill did it, he always wanted that.
Nobody except Brady expected the guy to play into his mid-40s. Belichick gave Brady a chance to retire gracefully but Brady wants to keep playing regardless of risk to his ability and body as he grows older. Tom is one of the greatest competitors out there and it made him great. Likely that desire to be great will also deliver him soon to mediocrity or worse.
