Patriots activate WR N'Keal Harry off IR

I think and this is a huge projection regarding Harry but by December the snaps distribution will be
1 Edelman
2 Harry
3 sanu
4 dorsett
5 Meyers

assuming a lot but if Harry progresses he is the most different of the group

If Harry is getting more snaps than Sanu, the Patriots either have an All-Pro for a 1st round draft pick, or Sanu is a complete bust.

There's no way in hell Harry should be ahead of Edelman/Sanu/Dorsett in snaps. He should be battling it out with Meyers for the WR4 spot.

Sounds good to me.
I was just trying to get on the same page, but if it’s going to result in arguing, I agree it’s time to move on.
Just messin around, you missed my sarcasm. It's all good.

Don't want to overanalyze Brady's words, but all that seems a bit cynical/negative of him to say. None of what Brady said is objectively untrue,

You should have avoided the first sentence, and then stopped after the above point in the second sentence.

Why does it always take so long for Brady to get in tune with his receivers? Sanders played 9 days after being traded to SF and balled out. Drake just arrived at Arizona and also balled out (162 yds from scrimmage).

WTF is it about Brady that he's so F picky. He doesn't seem to take advantage of players natural talents, but rather things need to fit into a prescribed play/role. How many times have we seen receivers wide open that TB doesn't even look at.

I love Tom and get that he's the Goat and all, but GD he sometimes seems like a prima donna.

Premature ejaculation of conclusion. 5 yard penalty.
Let's wait at the very least until 11PM Sunday before drawing this conclusion.
As to Sanders, Maybe just maybe it's because he is an established veteran star WR, not a rook who missed most of his 1st ever training camp.

I'll join you if we're into December and Harry Boy is getting open & ignored.

Brady absolutely has had streaks of forcing the ball to certain players particularly post-Moss. And if you’re forcing the ball you are refusing to throw to a player and are not going through the progressions.

And let’s not forget that on the SB52 game-ending strip sack he had White wide open for an easy first down but chose to hold onto it to go to a more covered receiver downfield.
Ah yes, James White, a player Brady absolutely refuses to throw to, especially in tight situations.

What a terrible example to present as your argument. Brady had 505 yards/ 3 TD’s in that game but one time he didn’t pass to an easier option, now that’s a proof he ignores receivers. Because every QB makes a perfect read AND has the foresight to know that his guard will get blown out in 2 seconds every time he takes a snap.

I’m sure you also think SB 52 is proof that Belichick is a becoming a terrible coach in his old age .o_O

Pats fans are spoiled rotten. Brady is now a prima donna who doesn’t like to pass to easy options.:rolleyes:

I especially like the argument that he ignores rookie WR’s because as we all know, the Pats have had dozens of talents that just slipped through our fingers because Vain Brady is a “get out of my lawn” citizen. All these highly touted draft picks that prospered elsewhere.

I only expect him to play like Jerry rice in his prime. If he does, I’ll be happy

I am not sure how it will work out. I don't have much expectation of Harry's contributions given that it's week 9 and he hasn't played a single snap against live competition at the NFL level. At best, Harry has only had...what? 3-4 weeks of practice under his belt.

However, I expect Harry to be a factor when he lines up on the 3rd/4th CB and/or in the red zone. I think he can make a lot of plays for us and draw coverage his way.

Lol at posters that said he wouldn't be activated until Saturday at 4 pm because of the super secret plan.

???

It is exactly what happened.

Unless you seriously thought people meant he will be activated at 3:59pm. But thats just being either obtuse or dumb.

Point was there was zero reason to activate him sooner than they had to which was today.

What are you talking about, my prima donna post was in reference to Sanu, who is not a rookie. Brady mentioned that a week wasn't enough to develop chemistry with Sanu, yet we see other vets going from team to team and producing instantly.

And it is Brady himself making comments about rookies, no one is making that up. Just because you point certain things out about the team or a player doesn't equate to being a spoiled rotten fan. The opposite of that would be fans that don't are just swinging on the players balls.

No, Brady should request that Harry be active and Meyers inactive, so that Harry doesn't get frozen out.

Then when we are in a set that requires WR's, Brady should request that Harry be in the game, while we sit Edelman or Sanu or Dorsett.

Really?

Folks can do the analysis. The vast majority of our sets require 2 or 3 WR's. I want us to ALMOST always use our top 3 wideouts. When we need 4 or 5 receivers, my general preference would be White and Watson.

Meyers has got lots of reps because of injuries. I suppose folks want harry instead, so that he can develop and Meyers can veg out on the inactive bench.

You keep talking about Meyers being inactive now for weeks in exchange for Harry when people have been saying for the same amount of time that it will be Gunner who is inactive because you actually want WR depth on the active roster which Gunner is not (yet).

Meyers has his routes that he knows well and Harry will get his limited vertical slice of the offense and depending on how often situations come up where any of them will be used they will get their snaps.

I expect the core of the offense to be Edelman, Sanu and White. But with James' late injury addition maybe it will be more of a Burkhead game instead.

But those three will be the basis which you will see reflected post BYE even more so. It gives them the best tools to create mismatches and work the inside.

Listen man you and the other dude specifically said 4 pm. Rapaport tweet came out before noon. You were wrong. Just admit it and move on.

We disagree.

I'm not saying they should force the ball to Harry, but give him some looks, particularly after the bye. If he doesn't get many looks this game that's fine. Beating Baltimore at this point is just too important. It give the Patriots a 3 game lead on nearly everyone in the AFC with just 7 games left to play.

That being said, seeing what Harry can do and getting him on the same page with Brady is bigger than 1 game. It is about getting this offense as good as it can get for the playoffs. Harry and Sanu are 2 guys who can help take this offense to a level we haven't seen yet this year IF they can get it going with Brady. To do that you need in game experience together not just practice.

“I mean, he’s been a part of some great offenses, so it’s really incorporating him into what we do and him learning the terminology, so that he can play fast and we can play with anticipation together,” continued Brady. “And then he’s running the routes where I expect them to be, so I can play with anticipation. And then you gain trust, then you gain confidence. And then once you gain confidence, you can go out and execute really well. So it’s hard to skip anything in that process. It’s just a reality of football. If you try to think that it’s going to come together in a day or two, those are probably unrealistic expectations.”

I think Brady is calibrating expectations, and with good reason.

Like most QBs Brady has times when he gets too greedy. I think they often coincide with snaps where he thinks he reads the defense perfectly, knows they are in a great play against that and then wants it a bit too much.

Fortunately he (still) does this at a mich lower rate than most other QBs in the league.

That’s great, but Brady only throws to one WR anyways.

I’ll just add that you may be the only person who thinks it takes an all pro to beat out Mohammad sanu and Philip dorsett.

It’s arm chair analysis. “oh white was open he should have thrown to him” totally ignores what the play call is. Clearly the play called for him to wait in a slower developing route. Clearly he didn’t see the threat of the reach in if he would have checked down. People want to attribute some type of negative attitude to Brady for executing the play the way it was drawn up because, well I actually don’t know why.

Of course you “force” the ball to Randy freaking Moss. That’s smart football and amounts to having a more aggressive gauge of what “open” means for Randy moss that joe shmuck. How can that be wrong?

Brady: This is awesome! In addition to last year's holdovers, I've got Gordon back, and AB, and Thomas!

BB: Yeah, we're getting rid of all 3 of them. You can have a pair of rookies. One will be a UDFA, and the other will miss half the season before seeing the field. But he'll be a first rounder, though.

Media and Patriots honks: But why is Brady so frustrated?

BB: “Do your job, cupcake”

.

This might happen if we secured a new had coach, a new OC and Brady was benched.

Unless the patriots have changed their 20 year system of operation the offense, the top reps will be given to Edelman, White and Sanu/Dorsett.
