I'm starting to think the Pats got wind of him ending up on the exempt list anyways. We were going to lose him no matter what so they were like ok we'll release him due to conduct and try and get our money back.

I hear you. I am just irate right now. Incensed even.

It bothers me to no end that women can just do this to men. And then when we react, we're the bad guys. They don't have to be held accountable, but we do. They don't get **** on for their actions. Women support each other, lock-step. But men have to stand alone, fighting against women AND men.

I'm not going to be that guy. I usually don't speak up on topics like this, but I am seeing a clear injustice here and people are just complicit. At this point, it's not even because he was a Patriot. Yes, he's an idiot, and sure he probably brought these things on himself by associating with these women.

But my god, are only men not allowed to make mistakes? A text message cost this man a Super Bowl. Incredible.
Wait.
There’s innocent until proven guilty but you seem to be crossing the line to say AB was a saint and everyone who crossed his path was involved in a conspiracy to make things up to make him look like a dbag.
I don’t agree with punishment for accusation but if you really think the women are the problem and AB is faultless, dude come on.

Patriots didn't release him randomly. There is something large looming that nobody will touch.

I’m not buying that. I think the text messages where the final draw but we shall see.

One game dude. The potential with brown would have been off the charts. You know they’re one relapse from Gordon to being average at the wr position with just one wideout and a number 4 wr and a bunch of unproven wideouts.
The distractions offset the talent advantage.

And I really don't understand why our rookies shouldn't impress before the season is over. For crying out loud Baltimore has a rookie as their number 1 receiver.

Have you not yet figured out after all these years that when the patriots make decision that seems unusual it’s only because you don’t know the facts?
Weren’t you the guy who complained when they released Hernandez?

What in the entire f*** are you talking about? My join date on this site is 2015.

Do I need to say anything else?

Antonio Brown once livestreamed the Steelers locker room after losing a playoff game with a huge smile on his face. He shot his way out of Pittsburgh. He showed up to Raiders camp this year in a hot air balloon and then refused to practice because he had frostbite on his feet from a bizarre cryotherapy tank in France and then he didn't like his helmet. He illegally wiretapped a phone conversation with his coach and then posted it to social media. He talks about himself in the third person. The Sports Illustrated article in question detailed literally dozens of times he was brought to small claims court because he simply refused to pay contractors and other people for their services. He engaged in bizarre behavior like having sex with someone in the same room as someone working on his house. I hate to break it to you, but the text messages are the tip of the iceberg. No one with two neurons to rub together thought we were doing anything other than inviting the circus to town... the only hope was the circus didn't distract him from football.

You're right. It wasn't random. 11 days into a one-year deal of an incentive laden contract and the guy gets a restraining order put on him by the league to stop stalking a woman who's not even suing him. That was enough.

As I said in a previous post, BB was likely anticipating that Brown is going to get suspended. Goodell probably phoned him and told him things weren't looking good based on their 10 HOUR meeting with the girl.

I don’t think he’s ending up ok the exempt list. Goodell needs to be consistent. Roethlisberger never ended up in the exempt list with hai first accused rapist. It was a civil matter as well.

What a september...what a starting season...better stop drinking coffe :confused:o_O

You still don't get it. Still think the texts were "innocuous"? C'mon, bro. The league had to put a restraining order on the guy. That alone was plenty for the Pats to kick him to the curb. You're smearing our organization by insinuating they're okay with what he did Wednesday night. They ain't.
Yes they were. But they were sensationalized and a frenzy resulted so the league rightfully told him to back off.

But the thing is the text messaging to an opposing party, not even for Brown, could not have been expected?. IMHO without this messaging there's a really good chance it blows over. Nobody was going to be asking for him to be jailed and key thrown away because an appropriately placed towel. And the other lawsuit, at face value, seemed full of holes. He just had to play football and let his high priced attorneys deal with the rest. Again I think this would have blown over. Shocking even for him to have done this utterly incredibly massively shockingly stupid move that is the reason he is an ex-Patriot.
As far as short? yep you're right. I would have rather kept DT too but the numbers game was wrong to keep DT. For me, in a moment of I told you so:) , the lack of addressing TE goes back to the draft thread. But with that said, Patriots aren't stuck in the mud by a mile. This is still a good O and a good D.....just less so without AB and the potential that DT could have brought.

It's a very good O and a GREAT D. Fix the OL and they'll still go 14-2 and be ready for the playoffs.

Don’t believe it. More like was gonna be suspended for the text messages and the pats said screw it.

It was a joke. But did you complain when they released Hernandez?

Women didn't do this to him, the jackass did it to himself. All he had to do was ALLOW THE LAWYERS, PR TEAM, AGENT THAT HE IS PAYING A LOT OF MONEY FOR TO DO THE JOB THAT THEY ARE GETTING PAID FOR. That is all he had to do, and he is too much of a headcase to stop.
