Peter King is such an ass. He has zero backbone. Always supports the path of least resistance.
To his credit he did say they should not cut him now over this as should go through due process

OK, AB is likely not guilty of anything.

However, the fact that she didn't file a criminal suit is irrelevant. Whether she was assaulted or not, she apparently doesn't want a trial. Many women don't. Threats and then filing a civil suit is the best way to get money. These cases are either dropped or settled. It is very unlikely that there will be a trial.

Peter King was just on WEEI and he doesn't know either as he was saying he should have just paid the $75k to make go away.

That is an interesting thought though. If AB were guilty, paying $75k to make a law suit go away and adding a non-disclosure clause would have been a whole lot easier and cheaper. If innocent, a laugh and "whatever" is the natural response.

I'm shocked. He always sides with the PC crowd

“How could he be ready?”

The guy is a 10 year vet who has likely run every route in the play book at one time or another.

“Why take plays away from guys who have been working their butts off?”

Because he is a superior player and the point of every game is to win. Hard workers will get recognition at a banquet in the offseason.

“Let next week play out and wait to see if he gets put on the CEL?”

Delaying participation because of events that may never materialize accomplishes what exactly.

“It will take 2-4 weeks to be on same page of offense?”

So what. 10 plays this week, 20 the next. Decoy short. Decoy deep.
His presence alters coverage. He is an asset from the first whistle on.
You do know that the Patriots Offense is a read and react type Offense. It is not just go run this route. There is a learning curve. He has not even practiced this much this year let alone game shape. Josh Gordon did not play until 2nd week after being traded for, and it could be argued that his route tree is a lot less complex. As I said it will take a good 2-4 weeks to get comfortable I did not mean to bench him that timeframe.

I truthfully am not happy with this moron. He put himself in this position just like throwing furniture out of a hotel room almost hitting a kid. The Domestic dispute charges. Reckless driving. The constant drama. Yes I believe sit his ass right from the start till the dust settles a bit. Something has to be said for doing it the right way (Patriots Way). If you let him come in causing a major distraction right off the bat and you baby him. Then we are looking for trouble, just like Pitt and Oakland. Let him know “Our way or the highway”. He needs us. We don’t need him.

If he conforms and changes his attitude then he is a Patriot and will be a major asset. He should have to earn that title not just give it to him, coming in with this major cloud hanging over him.

... the lack of the report doesn’t tell us anything in and of itself

It adds some context, though, when you consider the reasons why a person might file a civil suit regarding a serious crime.

a) Did she go to police, but not in a timely manner to permit a definitive analysis with a rape kit, and this is why she is going the civil route? no
b) Did she go to the police and they were not helpful, dismissive, or unsympathetic? No.
c) Had anyone else reported to the police similar activity, before or after? No. Why is this relevant? We know that rapists don't typically commit one rape and then always stay on the straight and narrow over a period of YEARS. The power and control generally makes it a habit and there is a track record.

So what's left is
d) she was too traumatized and/or embarrassed to come forward, until the point where physical evidence was absent; or
e) this is indeed a money grab

Anything else?? Not seeing other possibilities, frankly

Problem is it will come out and paying is an admission of guilt.

AB is a loser but if he feels he is innocent he should fight

King as a long time journalist should know better, or at a minimum have someone around him who could have informed him.....of the minimum of $75K to get into Federal court. As other have written to have SMJ ( subject matter jurisdiction) you need residents of separate states AND a matter over $75K...
King ought to stick to coffee ...................

Oh. So does Peter King support paying off rape allegations? Hmm

The way I read this Twitter exchange, she has captured his post (the box inside her post) and then comments on it.

My knee-jerk reaction is to scream "Look it says right there he's replying to her." That actually makes sense based on hierarchies I've seen on other platforms; if I make the main comment and you reply, your comment would be "captured" somehow in association with my original post.

However, I am to Twitter as Charlie is to Surf, in that I don't.

If you're interpretation is correct, I am tempted to add, Twitter is stoopit. But then, we know that... it just happens to be staggeringly popular as well.

These guys have seen the video and know what is going on here but they don't dare say it for fear of what will happen to them if they question the honesty of a victim of sexual assault. Look at that 2018 article on Jules charges making it seem like he got off because the police couldn't prove beyond a reasonable doubt. There was video there showing what happened, it never happened and the accuser should have been charged. It may be harder proving something didn't happen. In Jules case luckily there were video cameras but he was still arrested till they could review.

All the AB videos here prove is that the paperwork in the case is wrong and the nature of their relationship was distorted in the filing. Unless there is a true smoking gun of someone offering proof she planned this as a shake down, he will always be guilty in most peoples minds because most people just look at the surface (deflategate). In deflategate, most press get that is was just the temperature decline and there was no conspiracy. Few will say it but you see it in the nature of the coverage of Brady.

Not sure if this has already been posted, but in regards to putting Brown on the exempt list -

I had posted that many pages ago :)

But scroll through that whole twitter thread. Wallach's very next tweet points out there is also language saying that If the commissioner “suspects” that there has been a “crime of violence,” he can use exempt list on a “limited and temporary basis” to allow the NFL to conduct an investigation.. Goodell is so going to use that out.

I wonder if current relations with the union (with an upcoming negotiation) will play into this at all. I would sure hope Brown has contacted the NFLPA about this in advance, since this would set a new precedent.
Rosenhaus said yesterday that Brown has been in contact with the NFLPA, though not (yet) the NFL.

Is brown practicing today?

He always plays both sides. We saw that a lot during Deflategate.

He’s a flaming pile of dog crap when it comes to anything resembling Goodell-related issues, and he’s generally just a little b1tch. Tell us more about how Deflategate was a fake scandal, Peter, while you prepare your next radio gig explaining why it’s real.

He might as well be a politician. He changes his stance based on which way the wind is blowing.

Why don't you go back and read all 120 pages of this thread and see for yourself?
I don’t track content of thread posts. Just about every lengthy thread we have gets off topic

It’s the nature of all long discussions.
