Harry begs Brady: no rookie haircut

Winovich virtually made sure he'd keep his hair just by saying he'd be OK if they did it. Hazing is no fun if the hazee is OK with what's happening. The whole point of hazing to make a collective group go through something uncomfortable for the right to join the group.

But I'm not the best guy to talk about it. I didn't pledge a fraternity until my Sophomore year. I can remember the first guy who told me to get down and give him 20 push ups. I turned my 20 inch neck to them and said, "what?" and walked away. I had to do that about twice more before it stopped. Pledge week lasted about 2 days and one of them was a scavenger hunt that was one of the best times I had in college. The other day involved a lot of drinking and a band party. Very low key Frats at my school. BTW- I joined in the first place because you could have a girl overnight (back then you couldn't), the food was much better ( Mrs Leonard was great cook), and my best friend had joined the year before.

I went back to campus for my 50th reunion this spring. Great time for a lot reasons, but one oddity stood out. A few of us stopped by to the frat to see what it looked like. I went back to my old room and it STILL had the same paneling I put up 52 years ago.

What does it mean to down a bit? He'll fall into a deep depression?

If it's for religious reasons then I can understand . If not,he'll get it shaved off and like it.

his teammates won’t accept him as much unless he gets the haircut

I've always hated the concept of hazing. Go ahead Chase break Brady's jaw.

100% with you. **** people who think hazing is ok. Hazing is ok only if the person being hazed is ok with it. But then you say it's not hazing. So no, Hazing is NOT ok. **** all of you who think it is.

Now I'm ok with the rookie QB carrying the pads and helmets for the other 2 QB's. that kind of stuff is ok.

i think there's a definite difference between hazing and knowing your place. As a rookie QB you're the apprentice and you act accordingly, not least because you need the good graces of the guys above you. that should not be carte blanche for people to abuse you though.

There goes Ken again, bragging about his huge... neck.

It's not just ego and self image at stake. These men are in the entertainment industry. Cultivating a trademark look a la Harry and Winovich is potentially valuable, and cutting their hair world render them less recognizable, and less marketable. How much money do you think Clay Matthews' mane has made him over the years?
(Pssst: hair grows back. )

Wino doesn't look to happy about it.

I pledged a fraternity as well, back when hazing was "legal." One thing we had to do was individually sit bare-assed on a block of ice, outdoors at night in late November, and tell jokes until all the actives laughed. It was a tough audience.

I don't think I would have made it at your Frat, BUT is sounds like a fun time....for the brothers.
