I don't hate the pick but I'd have preferred Harry as more of an option at in the mid second. The only downside seems to be that he struggles to separate consistently. Dane Brugler has this in his write up which seems to make him an ideal Patriot:

strong hands, tracks well downfield, makes athletic adjustments on the football, owns the elevation skills to climb the ladder...makes one-handed grabs look routine, physicality to be a tackle-breaker on slants and screens, forces defenders to finish him to the ground, durable and plays through injury.

Seems good to me. In fact his play on tape sort of reminded me of Josh Gordon last season and Dez Bryant. Not the fastest but good hands, aggressive and physical, can go and get the football etc.

So Goodell didn't say "World Champions" again when announcing our pick?

Isnt that what gronk was?

I loves me some high-value apostrophe!

Brady’s never been good with burners, this guy is much more his type.

There are some exceptions.

Deion Branch, Randy Moss.

You might even include David Patten in that because Patten did not do much elsewhere.

In a pass heavy league it’s interesting that only 1 corner was taken off the board. Teams who take guys like Greedy Williams and Byron Murphy in the 2nd round should feel good about themselves. OL is another area with some great value based on some of the players left who will be picked in the 2nd.

Sternburger and Isabella would be perfect tomorrow.

Isabella brings the desperately needed speed and sternburger brings the ability to work the deep seam.

Any of Sternberger/Knox/Oliver and I’m personally hoping for McLaurin rather than Isabella (but wold be ok with him).

So what were your thoughts when Tom Brady cried on his draft day? He turned out alright.
Lloyd Carr didnt believe in him, 32 NFL teams didnt believe in him when he came back 14-0 vs alabama, they mocked him at combine. He thought he was the best and he almost didnt get drafted, I cut the goat some slack for shedding a tear.

The guy we are talking about has a nickname of Hollywood, is cuzins with the biggest diva in the game, and has known he would be a high pick for months now.

I didn't request a crucifixion for the guy, I just prefer a more composed response similar to Harry's.

Scope to go defense or OT at 56 (Joejuan/Zach Allen) and then WR and TE at 64 and 3rd round. Grier at 56?

Predictions for tomorrow:
Dre'Mont Jones
Connor McGovern
Taylor Rapp (maybe)

If Gordon comes back you have
Edelman
Gordon
Thomas
Harry
Dorsett

They a very good wr group. Huge too.

We may be spreading the field and running against dime.

That would be nice if your scenario works out.
Right now we don’t know if we can rely on Gordon, he needs his head to be in the right place.
Thomas is not guaranteed to make it through training camp.

So, the only guarantees is Edelman and Dorsett, but I am not sure is even good enough to be a #2.
This is in the scenario if we don’t get the other two to start off the season with.

Harry looks good, not sure how much impact he will make in his rookie year, but I do hope he makes a good impact. He won’t spread the field, and I am not sold on Dorsett to be able to spread the field and getting the call on the 50/50s.
Let’s not forget Gronk left a huge void.

I’m positive about tomorrow nights picks.

Hey. I was wrong for the first time since 1996 I guess. Not the pick I would have gone for, but all the guys I really wanted at the spot had come off the board. I'm just assuming they felt he was far and away the best WR available. I thought there were other big WR's like Boykin or Baker who could fill the bill just as well.

Personally given the board, I would have traded out of the spot, but then again we don't know if they tried and no one gave them value for the spot. I hope he turns out to be great, but the fact is the REAL draft for the Pats is ALL about tomorrow. From those 5 picks I want to see a DT, DE, TE, OL and Andy Isabella.

It also makes me think that Josh Gordon is much LESS of a sure thing this season than I thought.

All good. I just like teasing a bit since we did take a 1st round receiver, and we did take a bigger guy who can make contested catches. Let's get one of your guys tomorrow. :)

Wouldn't mind Irv Smith in the Second good value.

Oliver seems like the best fit but he's not a second day pick.
