Post Game Thread- Dolphins beat the Pats

The Chumps have already lost the chick beater, and the wife choker is playing with a bum ankle. I'm not worried about them, and never have worried about them to be honest. Pittsburgh is highly suspect. I suspect them to beat us next week with assistance from the league (we'll avenge the loss in the playoffs), because I can't imagine the Steelers losing 3-games straight and likely missing the playoffs... but who knows with them, the rapist is inconsistent. Philip Rivers is playing in one of the biggest markets, so I suspect the NFL to assist them with some wins, however, Rivers is good at delivering wins for his opponents too.

Other notes:

- Texans are trash!
- Miami is trash!
- Baltimore is trash!
- Titans are mediocre.
- Colts are trash!

I am not worried about our chances at all. Bye week or no bye week. 1st seed or last seed. Arrowhead or a dome in Texas. The only way we lose games is when we suck, combined with suck play-calling, suspect officiating, (or league mandated jobbing to make another team look strong.) I'm not worried about us at all.

It's true, the Pats are very mediocre this year, but luckily for us, everybody else sucks worse than us at this point.

I think they played well today, yeh they lost on a fluky play, so did the Eagles and Pittsburg almost pulled off a lateral for a win....it was a weird day in football. I do wish NE had made a real effort to get a TD at the end of the game.

I dont really care where the pats play, preferably in NE but I never think NE is going to actuall lose a game, yeh it is harder on the road. I think NE can win anywhere when they play their best game.

On the other hand, Im not thrilled about potentially playing New Orleans or the Rams in the SB....can the pats win, sure I think they could but yikes I think it would be a heart attack game.

Texans and Steelers losing sure helped us.

I’m shocked it even worked. After (KVN?) missed on the dive, everyone else seemed very disinterested. It was as if everyone was waiting for someone else to make the tackle. And you know what? For how athletic I keep hearing JC Jackson is, he sure as hell doesn’t look very athletic in pursuit. This game though....my goodness. Last week the tackling was lights out! I just don’t get it.

What about JMac, Harmon, Chung and Gilmore?
Harmon didn't kick on the jets until Van Noy missed Drake.
Gilmore stood there sidestepping his way down the field, never attempting to close the distance.
Chung was flat-footed and Drake just ran around him..
JMac barely comes into the frame of the replay as Drake is nearing the goal line.

At least Jackson stayed with the play the entire time.. His only slow-down was when he had to jump over Van Noy's diving tackle attempt.

As others have mentioned, Calling for the "Hail Mary" coverage was a mistake by Flores. At worst, they should have been in a Deep-Zone in Dime Coverage (20-25 yards back, not 50+)

Well, had to work forced ot today but I dvr’d the game. Judging by the first couple of pages I don’t think I’m going to watch, or view any media for a few days. By the sounds of my brother’s vm rant it was a doozy of a loss.

That's why I'm not really upset over this lost, we've lost 5/6 in Miami before this game, not shocking that we lost again.
Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction. I called my 85 year old dad after the game (We always dissect the game) and told him to take an extra blood pressure pill. After spouse spent 8 days in the hospital this fall with serious injuries from a fall (still dealing with them), football is more of a diversion than a passion these days.

Altitude and heat I guess but idk what our record is in Tampa or Jacksonville.
They haven't met often because JAX rarely wins their division but the only loss I can recall was this year under BB. I don't think they've lost in Tampa Bay under BB. In fact, Tom Brady has only played in Tampa Bay once in his career (last year) and won.

Oh yeah and almost lost I remember.

I mostly agree with this assessment, but the one major issue I have is that the Chargers are really, really good. Since I live right next to their stadium they're on TV every week here, so I've seen a lot of them and IMO they're the best team in the AFC by a pretty comfortable margin with KC coming back to earth. And I get it, the Chargers jokes have been practically writing themselves for like 15 years, but this is a different Chargers team and FWIW I've never said that before. I get the impulse to just reflexively write them off, I've been doing it for a decade-plus too. But they're playing fantastic football right now, and have been for a couple months straight.

Their kicking game is their achilles heel, and I wouldn't be even a little surprised to see it end their season, but their latest guy seems to be competent and other than that they're excellent at basically everything. Rivers is playing the best football of his career, they have the best and deepest RB stable in the league, Keenan Allen is a stud, and they have impact players at every level of the defense. I'd caution everyone here against sleeping on these guys, they're the real deal. I fully expect them to beat the Chiefs, causing everyone to realize at roughly the same time that the two best teams in the league are both in LA

This could have been much worse. If the Texans and Steelers won, we’d go down to #3 or 4. Was a bad day for the afc period

I'm sure 2011 Giants fans said the same thing

Weird **** happens in the playoffs
Add 2007 Giants to the list. They had no business even being in the Super Bowl.

And 2012 Ravens.

We haven’t had a Giant’s type defense since 2004. You can talk about 2014, but I’m talking about a swarming defense that gets after the QB.

I'm going to give the 2012 Ravens their props. They came in and bashed us and came close in 2011.

Wanting to point something out on the last play. Jc Jackson took what I think was a terrible angle. He should have peeled back and ran downfield, allowing more yardage to be gained but preventing Drake from getting behind him. In a situation like that, all that matters is preventing the TD. He took himself out of the play.

In 2015 they finished 2nd in sacks

Yeah, a Texans win would have dropped us to 3. Steelers couldn't have passed us with a win, due to the tie on their record, but it would have placed much higher stakes on next week's game

I live in the LA area too and the Chargers are a big sleeper right now. I've been waiting for them to s**t the bed for a while now and it's not happening. Their biggest test will be in KC next week, if they win that game I will be saying "oh s**t!"

I saw that too.

DMC should have been there. Hell even Ebner should have

It took a miracle play on the road to beat us. We played good last week. It’s just been a bad road year.

Playing well one week and garbage the next isn't indicative of a good team. And honestly, half the reason they looked good last week was the Vikings completely abandoning the run.

The defense is a trainwreck. They've had a few good games but they've totally crapped the bed against outright bad offenses. It's a bad unit and this isn't an elite offense the Pats have to compensate.
