NFL Rumors: Bill Belichick ‘Easily’ Could Coach Another Four To Five Years

If true I think he wants to stick around for the post Brady era and I don't see why he wouldn't.

You might wonder what more could he accomplish especially if he wins another ring with Brady well what about keeping this thing up float or being able to rebuild and get another lombardi without Brady?

I think that's his motivation/another challenge well huge one to take on before he rides off into the sunset, and I think he pulls it off.

Would like to see Josh as the one to take the reins but only when BB is ready to walk away.

The older I get the less I care about peripheral crap so I wonder if BB really wants to prove he can win without Brady or not. I think he stays just to continue coaching because he enjoys it.

I think he stays until his sons are well established in the coaching ranks. The older son is well on his way to having a similar path as Kyle Shanahan, but the younger one is just starting out.

Is he starting the Brady method...? Gotta stay young:cool:

As a master of football history, I highly doubt Belichick gives a crap about this really stupid fake scenario because no one cares that Brown never won a championship without Graham, Lombardi never won a championship without Starr, Noll never won a championship without Bradshaw, and Walsh never won a championship without Montana.

This idea that Brady or Belichick need to separate in order to prove their legacy is idiotic, even by media standards.

I mean he's like 70 wins away from Shula's record. If they can eek out 10-12 win seasons for 5 more years I think it gets tantalizingly close to try to overtake Shula in the record books. Especially if you're someone who so clearly loves the game and its history as Belichick.

Bingo! We have a winner!

I believe there is nothing that sticks in Bill's craw more than that smug SOB Shula and his annual celebration of their undefeated year. And he knows that nothing would stick in Shula's craw like Bill being the all time winningest coach.

I never thought that it’d be possible, but if Belichick coaches with a high rate of success for another few years, it may prove to be too tantalizing to pass up the opportunity. Boy, would that be something.

Lets not downplay how fulfilling it has to be for him to be around his two sons and mentoring them. I see no reason to think why he would stop coaching just because Brady went away.

Would never classify myself as a master, more of a witness of this history... but agree BB does not care as much about his personal legacy as much as he wants to instill his imprint and a blueprint on how to conduct oneself as a HC in today's NFL... for this he will be remembered.

OTOH he is 37 wins away from tying George Halas #2 all time NFL wins ( about 3 seasons + playoffs) and 60 wins from tying Shula (about 5 seasons including playoffs).. at one point I thought his goal was to surpass Paul Brown's 175 wins ( 15th most wins) but was definitely wrong about that..

Have always thought that the accomplishments of Brady/Belichick were dependent on each other, but separate... that is the banter of sportstalk radio and on dull days always sparks discussion..

He obviously loves what he’s doing.

I’m pretty sure the Krafts have also decided that just like Brady, he gets decide how long he stays.

Maybe by then he'll dump Linda who is pushing 60 and date a 30something.:p

In all seriousness being around his sons and passing down to them his
knowledge has to be what is really driving him.
