He'd be pumping out 35 a game. He had Steph's range 35 years ago and had a better inside game than anyone in today's game

The inside game barely exists today in comparison to Bird's era. The perimeter shooting that is the bulk of today's game would be cake for him. In fact of all the 80's stars he might be the one that would transition best to the game as it's played now.

Remember when we thought Tiger Woods daddy was over the top? Damn that clown is an embarrassment, one seriously obnoxious sperm donor.
Modern day Don King except this one pimps his kids.

Sir you are living in a vacuum. Anyone who witnessed that era would disagree. Unless you consider to anyone over 40 to be an old fogey, and would have no point of reference. I watched them as a teen and young adult. They were amazing.

It was a different game, far more dependent on defense and less dependent on hitting 3 pointers. I think both games are very, good and on par with each other.
If you want to see true high quality defense from the past, find video of the last 6 minutes of games 5,6 and 7 of the 1981 Eastern Conference Finals when Bird and company shut down Philadelphia..

King probably would have sold one of his kids if he could have gotten away with it.
Archie Manning is a piker compared to Ball. Archie steers careers and lives vicariously through his sons, Ball lives off of them.

He'd be one of the best without doubt. As a point of reference Jordan was not Jordan until Bird and Magic were well past their prime, and he played them many times. Until they were done he was much more of a stat. sheet.

Huh? Jordan was still dropping over 30 but he had a crappy team for the most part.

Not really he was the star on teams that didn't play as a team vs the powerhouse teams aka Celtics with Bird and Lakers with Magic and Detroit. Until he grew up and they went away.

Those lakers and Celtics teams where loaded. Come on now. Imagine if Jordan played on those teams

Yup. Jordan benefitted from timing more than any athlete. He went into his prime just as all the old 80’s powerhouses started dying off and his first title was against an aging Lakers on their last legs without Kareem. Shift Jordan’s career in any direction and he immediately has stiffer competition whether it’s the 80’s powerhouses or the Lakers of the early 2000’s and Pop’s Spurs. That’s why I always give Lebron the benefit of the doubt as far as competition. Jordan would not have gotten to the Finals as much if he had to go through a Big 3 Celtics and if he did those Lakers teams with Kobe and Gasol were a level above who he played in the Finals. Then when he went to Miami he had to go against the Spurs twice and then just went through 4 straight Finals against Golden State who BEFORE Durant came there were being compared to Mike’s best teams. Jordan still is better and has the better resume but there is really little doubt that Jordan’s career was on a sweet spot where he played between dynastic runs

Hos ego wouldn't have allowed him to flourish on those teams. Those teams had a lot of unselfish players and were led by unselfish players (Magic & Bird)

Best line I ever heard about the '85-86 team was Bill Walton's that the toughest games they ever had were the scrimmages between the #1 and the #2s and that the #2 ( Walton, Wedman, Carlisle, Sichting and.... ) could have won 50 games... As it was, they [ED-the team] won 67 games and cruised to the championship....

"..his shotless son will be on the bench and have a great courtside seat now that Rondo is there."

The bad thing about this is, if ever the semi-stacked Lakers would win the next Playoffs, Lavar wouldn't shut up about how his son won a ring without even doing anything at all.

By the way, newbie here. Aside from being a Patriots fan, I'm also a critter lover. I'm usually found at home, treating my Pomeranian, Denny, to his nylabones and watching TV with my wife. Such a simple, yet, happy life. Cheers, fellas!
