I know he's his own man, but Wolf's dad traded a first round pick for Favre right away, so we know trades, and high value ones, are on the table. I think unless we draft a WR we love, the only way we're going to get a Jefferson, Higgins or someone is through a big trade. But I think you're right...
Getting back to the idea of giving reps to the rookie (and Rourke), I wonder if McAdoo’s job is going to mostly be working with the rookie, to get him ready for 2025 while AVP works with Brisket and Rourke on the ins and outs of the 2024 season?
Which means Rourke needs to show what he's got in camp if he wants any chance. If he can't beat out Brisket and the rookie, he's going to be in for another frustrating season as a QB3.
Hey @Ian, how do you see this working with what you were talking about the last few days about developing young QBs. That quote from Vrabel stood out about not having reps for their backup QBs. Beyond camp, is there any opportunity a Rourke or a rookie could really develop through the year if...
I don't think this will affect their decision to draft a QB at 3. I think that's coming straight from the top. But he'll have an opportunity to show what he has and we'll see if he can outplay Brisket and the rook in camp. We'll also find out if we're the kind of organization that still allows...
I'm reserving judgement for four years and then if the pick works out, I'll say that I was always for it and if it doesn't, I'll say I always wanted [insert other guy].
It's weird that Eisen talks about the problems with how young QBs are developed in one breath and can't wait to get rid of Wilson from the Jets in the next.
It'll be interesting to see if the Steelers get anything out of Fields. Or if any of these failed QBs end up pulling a Geno in Seattle...
Yep. The Steelers could polish one of them into a starter going forward or they could have a situation where they don't have any capable QBs. That'll be an interesting situation to watch next year. But if we're trying to develop a QB, I'm glad he's not going to be in the room with those two.
