Brady resting sore foot, did not make trip to Tampa

Re: Brady Resting sore foot ,did not make trip to tampa

Why are you so upset about this? People don't really pay attention to Providence, because its not that great of a city.

Seems to be good enough for the NFL since most teams who play the Patriots fly into Warwick and stay in Providence.

PS - TB is fine. No reason to play him in Tampa.

Whether Tom Brady is healthy or not, I don't want to see him this preseason. We already know what he brings to the table, he doesn't need any reps. Now if it were a different group of recievers like in '06, I'd want to see him play. But this is the same group, I'm glad Brady is taking the week off.

Re: Brady Resting sore foot ,did not make trip to tampa

I don't claim to be an expert on these things but Brady does live in Boston during the season.

So you think it's just a coincidence that two message boards report seeing Brady at the RI MRI center Friday at 7:30AM over 24 hours before the Pats announce that Brady isn't going to Tampa.

Plus PatsNUTMe has a contact at the same hospital who reports that Brady was there Friday AM

Another one a them spurious reports with no validity.

Look, whether or not Brady had an MRI is irrelavent to me. I am just happy that BB is not putting the franchise behind that crappy offensive line. Their execution in the last game was awful. I will be watching for improvement this week. If Brady is a little hurt, so be it. LET HIM REST!!
I'd rather see him out there on week one of the regular season, not week 2 of the preseason.

I would rather see him healthy and get some reps in, but if there is ANY medical issue at all, he can sit and rest. I do not think it at all a coincidence that two message boards reported that there was an MRI and then, he's not going to Tampa. I am sure there is a problem, but NO REASON to risk anything this week.
It's even more critical that a true backup be found and if neither Gutz or Cassel can fill the bill, they could both be out and a vet QB brought in.

its preseason.. and its not a big deal. but lets remember 2 weeks ago the trainer was looking at his leg , he did not miss practice time since then , and did finish practice..

Bottom line its all percautionary.. And I think he plays on Fri against the eagles.. He will need some work at least..

I agree...if he is seeing action, it will be Friday, as the last preseason game has traditionally the last 4-5 years been no starters and a last chance to see many of the fringe players.

Preseason is a big joke... And I feel for fans that have to pay full price for those games.. Brady will play 1 half all summer, no Peyton Manning.. Etc..

Like I said , its all cautious with Brady nothing to worry about..

If any of that is true it will become news by daybreak tomorrow. I highly doubt that the only insiders are posters within this forum.

Re: Brady Resting sore foot ,did not make trip to tampa

I'll wait until he doesn't play in the third game before I freak out.

But I WILL freak out.

Well the good news is I can cancel the DVR recording of the game. I don't know if I can stomach another O'Casserrez performance.

I think signing Troy Brown as an emergency QB might not be a bad thing after all - Troy sit by the phone, BB may be calling you

H'mmm, so many feisty people:
- New England has geography? Will that be a new course in schools?
- Is the only place to have an MRI a hospital?
- Does the fact PATSNUTme has spies in medical facilities throughout the region making anyone else worried?

jeez...I hope he doesn't know I'm still smoking.

I really like Mike Reiss and his dispassionate analysis. However,he borders on being a shill for the team.(take a breath...I said "borders").

He attributes the report on Brady to "NFL Sources",which could be anyone who ever had any dealings with the NFL since it's inception(post 1920).

It seems to me that he was given the story, asked to hold it until the team was on the way to Tampa and then release it.

To say TB was "resting his foot" smacks of BB
disinformation and if Reiss was a part of this,he is doing a disservice to both his readers and to the team he covers.

If you're reading this board,Mike, prove me wrong by following up with more detail.
At the least, give your opinion as to whether an MRI was involved.

Simpler answer...no one, including Reiss, gets any more injury information than absolutely necessary.

no it's not simple.....the good, independent writers don't take the team's word as gospel.
They investigate further,like Adam Shecter.
Reiss owes us more than just reporting:
"he's home,resting his foot".
I can get that from PRAVDA.

Are you kidding me w/this??

Adam Schefter gets fed leads and info because he works for the NFL Network, don't you find it ironic that since it's inception no one and I mean no one gets more inside scoops than this guy. It used to be Chris Mortensen was the guy but no more.

Reiss said "Tom Brady staying home to rest sore foot" because that's what the truth is.

I think that BB's flexibility position cross training of Brady as backup FG kicker will end now.

As long as we're enjoying this moment with minimum hysteria, perhaps it's time for a panic inducing conspiracy theory?

- Early Training Camp emphasis: Run Game...
- Notable offseason visits/effort to sign additional veteran RB...
- Jordan signed.
- Perhaps there's another, more sinister, reason then injuries for NE leading the League in O-Linemen in Training Camp...
- Reserve QBs appear to be getting more reps this preseason than in preseasons past...
:help: Cassel to King 4...

I have spies everywhere. They saw you rip the tags off the furniture.:banned:

Look, two posters on two different sites posted that he was at the building. Anyone who read both posts should be able to add 1+1 and come out with 2. I haven't been invited to speak at the MENSA convention.

I do know that a reporter is trying to confirm this with the team. I doubt if the team will be forthcoming with the information.

Cassell was spotted there too, rumor has it he was looking at new arms for a transplant
