My opinion of Peter King has changed

Peter King is a moron but through it all, he has been the one that is most supportive of the Pats' reasoning within Sports Illustrated. Yeah, I know. That's not saying very much is it?

Since I know the recordings had very marginal impact (based on common sense reasoning as well as some understanding of what reasonable people have been saying), I knew immediately that 75% was in the ballpark for what most teams must be able to do.

But then again, I'm no Peter King.

Yeah, he pretty much proved right there that he knows next to zilch about football right there didn't he?

I think King is also very quick to look for moral judgments in, of all things, sports reporting. That's a big flag that his (and lots of others') journalism is more about reinforcing convenient positions than looking at them critically. As soon as a media personality starts to generalize or moralize on specific facts that they know little about, they stop becoming journalists and become something else entirely. Call it what you will. Of course, I have my own names for it.

The problem with King is he appears in ESPN arsholes' shows too much. You can see why he is not consistent to what he says. He says something nice about Pats today and he says something else about pats tomorrow.

Jets fans are running with this 75% thing without acknowledging that this is average. They believe anything that is in print! Jet fans are complete jackoffs.

Huh? That would be Don Banks.

There was a game one time when Parcells was here that he took a great deal of crap for because the offense was too textbook. Parcells quickly said that the NFL is all about execution and trickery is but a small piece of that on both sides of the ball.

So, let's look back on a few teams that were great and ran vanilla plays.

The great Redskins team comes to mind.
The great Csonka & Kick Dolphins is another.
Our own 2001 Super Bowl team ran a very, very basic offense and yet won...dink and dunk ... DUH!!!!
The great Bronocs team either ran the ball or went long ... that was it.

I as well as others here could list some more. You could tell the other team you are running off tackle and if it's your best play you are going to succeed 75% of the time. All these blowhards seem to be taking away from the players and giving too much credit to coaching ... it's rather sad.
