Completely random story, I don't know if its laughable or infuriating, but...

I don't know if anyone caught this episode or if they caught the story of it...I saw the story on it on NESN last nite, I stopped watching SVU a few years ago b/c they ran out of story lines, and it was never more apparent then now.

The episode was basically about Tom Brady. He was the "best quarterback in the league", wore #12, dated a supermodel, had a cleft chin, and looked an awful lot like Tom Brady. The plot of the episode was that he was secretly gay and murdered his gay lover.

Just how ridiculous is that? Whoever writes this piece of crap show needs to get a life or find some new story ideas.

Paul Perillo was talking about this on PFW in Progress yesterday.

I also watched the episode, but I never got the sense they were playing off Brady, especially with the whole brain injury/anger thing.

Let me guess, show takes place in NYC, the writers could be Giants fans, haha let's throw some salt in the wound.

Ah, OK, so there's more to it than NESN let on.

Is this the one from this week that's Det. Green's last episide ? Or an old one. I have the new one DVRed but haven't gotten to it yet.

It was SVU on Tuesday (not the original L&O, which had an even worse episode on Wednesday night).

I caught the second half of it, and not for a second did I think of Brady (although I admit I didn't see the 12). If anything, I thought of an, ahem, different QB.

The most regular writer for SVU is from Providence, a woman, and doesn't know much about football. It may have been another writer who wrote that particular episode however.

Thanks, I have that DVRed too so I'll be ready I only watch a few shows but I'm way behind.

I watched the show and I never got the Brady connection. A single, good looking qb who wore #12 was the show's victim, then it must be Brady. I missed it, then again, who cares.

I too watched the show, and never once thought of Brady. I think this is a bit of a stretch. He was short and had blond hair too.

That show is on it's last breath anyways....and it sucks to boot.

Dude, it's fiction. They're just toying with a pretty common theme undercutting hyper-masculinity: they're gay underneath. I doubt it has anything to do with Brady and even if it did, so what? It'd be more funny than anything. His girlfriend tells us all we need to know about the guy. This whole player X is gay is pretty irrelevant stuff, and I don't know why it persists.

Yeah, I thought that too when I was watching it. He did seem very Brady like. Obviously, everything that happened in the show has nothing to do with Brady, but what you laid out was very Brady-line.

In fairness though. Law and Order has been taking real life celebrities and fictionalizing them for stories for over a decade now.

i stopped watching the law and orders franchise when, in an episode, that old coot waterston said the sox were never going to win the ws. told me all i need to know about their writers. that was while back. this episode does not surprise me in the least. can't stand ny lovers.

My wife and I watched it we both thought, at first, they were going after the Brady theme. With the #12, best QB in football, supermodel girlfriend, cleft chin, good looking, guy lived in NYC, got caught going at it in a restaurant, just a bunch of little things...

But then in the end the QB had brain damage so it had to have been Eli they were talking about.....

the girl friend called me and told me about it, good thing I dont watch that crap

I saw it got it immediately. They were in fact using Brady as their image for that episode. But my reaction when I watched it as it is now is: BIG DEAL!

The Herald has a blurb on it today:

Especially when that QB started screaming at his offensive lineman.......very un-Bradylike.
