This was jsust passed along by the Patriots:The New England Patriots are pleased to learn that Matt Walsh is finally willing to come forward to meet with the NFL. We are eagerly anticipating his honest disclosures to Commissioner Goodell next month and the return of all the materials he took during his time of employment. [...]

Sounds like the Pats aren't afraid of what Walsh has to say. But then again if they were, they wouldn't show it in the statement. But their strong wording tells me that they do feel they will be cleared otherwise they would temper their statements.

i wish they would use less words but that's cool.

I love how they repeat the "There's no confidentiality agreement" statment and pointing out that he really doesn't need any protection to begin with.

They are really either sure they are going to be cleared, or the Pats are posturing. I think the former.

If this were a rap battle, Walsh's whole crew just got sonned. That's a verbal beatdown right there, good work, Patriots legal/PR department.

I love the part where the Pats say they can't wait to finally get their **** back.

Love the Pat's attitude!!!!!!!!

Translation: "Give us back the footage of the biggest kick in our franchise's history!"

I have a feeling we are going to hear alot of: "This is what we waited for?" after May 13th

1. Walsh comes forward with no real information.
2. Walsh gets sued by the Pats.
3. NFL indemnifies Walsh in the civil action.
4. Pats settle with the Walsh (NFL) for $1.5 million ($500K + $1 million).

My favorite part:

"We fully expect this meeting to conclude the league’s investigation into a damaging and false allegation that was originally levied against the team on the day before this year’s Super Bowl."

translation - Bob Kraft will soon own the Boston Herald and Fred Kirsch will be in charge...God help us all

I'd love to see a Kraft-owned Herald. You think they'd get insider access then?

True dat .....

Given that Goodell's office leaked like a sieve at the beginning of Spygate in September, we can expect to know something soon after the "materials" are turned over on May 8th and before the actual meeting on the 13th.

I'm a little nervous about the detailed provisions surrounding Walsh's ability/inability to make money off of the affair, presumably via a book or media interviews. To me, this means that he at least THINKS he has something of interest to say or reveal. There are enough people who want to believe anything Walsh says to provide a remunerative market for whatever unsubstantiated nonsense he puts forth.

Bottom line for me: if there is no tape of the Walkthrough and no hard evidence that the Patriots did anything more than they have already acknowledged, then Spygate will be over in the minds of all but the most biased or crazed.

The thing that eases my mind has been that the league AND the Patriots had to agree not to sue Walsh if he talked. The Pats agreed to this.
Now tell me if the pats had anything to hide, would they agree not to sue him?!
They could easily say NO and he would never come forward with the info!
From what i've read, it looks like Walsh is more concerned about getting indemnity to say whatever he wants to say, and not about what he has or doesn't have to turn over to the league.
Translation..... I have video that I took of the rams taking the field after the pats took their team photo and left. I have audio tape of Scott Pioli saying that Al Davis' leather Raiders jacket makes him look like white trash and of Bill Belichick asking me if I graduated the 6th grade, as well as a piece of patriots history that I stole. Which I'd like to hold for ransom to get indemnity (actually total immunity.. which is why it took this long to reach an agreement) so I can say anything I want to make a buck off of this whole ordeal.

I hope he parlays this into a guest spot on "The View", wears a brown suit and Rosie Odonell mistakes him for a candy bar and eats him. I truly hate this jerk :violent:
