He's a 10 year vet, makes 3.5 million and embarrassed the team when they could least afford it. I don't know the cap situation but if cutting him after June 1 saves 2 to 2.5 or more, I think he could be cut or traded. They need to set an example and Faulk may pay for "borrowing his friends jacket".

Well, if the Pats decide they need to clear cap space in order to have room to sign somebody, Faulk is the most logical choice. If he is cut it clears $2,139,720 of cap room. The only player that could clear more cap space by being cut now is Rodney Harrison, at $2,951,817.

Yes they most definitely should release Faulk, just like they should have released that woman-beating a-hole, Randy Moss.

His salary is $2.4M and it would cost $1M to cut him, it's not a big savings - not to mention his "incident" barely caused a blip on the radar screen and he's a great player.

So . . . no.

Do you really feel he embarrassed the team? A lot? Badly?
He DID pass a drug test. FWIW

The offseason is now official!

We have had the lets make a safety a CB thread. Kudos to Meriweather for filling the Wilson role.

We have had the sky is falling first day of free agency thread.

And finally, we've had the Kevin Faulk is old, makes too much $, and is going to be cut thread.

Faulk is a huge asset to the team. He is "money!"

no for faulk and no for harrison.
they are BIG playmakers for this team, a little drug infraction is not going to get him cut.

Faulk is trouble to the opposing defense. The guy is clutch with a Capital C out of the backfield. How many times did he get the first when it looked like there was no way in h3ll it was going to happen? More times than this fan can remember.....

No way he is cut.......

Worst thread of all-time.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't Faulk have a brush with the law shortly after the Pats won Super Bowl XXXVI

Unbelievable. NO< NO>NO

How did he embarrass the team? Wearing someone elses coat? You act like he is full of crap saying it was someone else's coat. If it were his, how did he pass the drug test?

Have YOU been wearing Faulk's friend's jacket?
Because you sound like your pretty high.

Worst thread of all-time.

I'm not a big fan of absolutes, especially since I see one of these threads everyday with the same response, and I agree with just about every response like this. So the conundrum is how can 75% of the threads be the worst thread ever, and moreover how can everyone saying it's the worst thread ever be so right every time?

I think I just developed a tic

Wes Welker vs Ocho Cinco was a good one.

You must be out of your mind.

i think its pretty easy how he passed.. he was caught with unsmoked joints.. obviously he would pass if he didnt smoke them yet.. maybe its an offseason habit he has...

just cause he passed, does that prove it wasnt his jacket? dont know...

just cause ty law said he had his cousins bag does that mean it wasnt his?

do i care? not really.. do i think he should be cut for it? no..
