Adam Schefter just interviewed Commissioner Goodell on NFLN at the Pro Bowl and asked him about the Matt Walsh story. He said the league had nothing to support the allegation and, in fact, had "evidence to the contrary." He didn't explain what that evidence might be, but this looks like a non-matter. Of course, Marshall "F*ckhead" Faulk said how "troubling" it is that a former Patriots employee would make such an allegation.

I swear, if I was in the mafia I'd put out a hit list on some of these morons.

I really feel like Goodell has got our back. Ultimately the NFL's butt is as much on the line with all these allegations as the Pats are.

Evidence to the contrary is BS. It's damned hard to prove a negative.

Evidence to the contrary could include a lot of things.

*Hard evidence of Walsh being in another place at the time.

*Statement by single pool reporter that he was the only one in the stands.

*Description by Walsh of what happened inconsistent with the Rams own video of the practice.

*A video being handed over that that shows the Rams running a practice that includes not only the players at the SB but also some players that got cut at camp on a field that looks like the practice field of the Rams camp and not the site of the alleged incident.

If the story is not consistent with other verifiable facts that is evidence the whole story is a fraud.

you forgot one....

* A video of Matt Walsh playing chinese checkers with Billy Joe Hobert at the exact time of the Rams' Walk through

I think "evidence to the contrary" means they have evidence that the Rams were spying on the pats, as we saw on the NY Times article.

I find it "troubling" that Marshall Faulk continues to be touted as a "expert" on NFL Network.

Unfortunately for me, it doesn't mean he's going to be canned anytime soon.

That would be a very specific example of

*Hard evidence of Walsh being in another place at the time.

At our practice a day earlier Pepper Johnson, as well as the pool reporter and an NFL official in attendance reported observing a telescope in a third floor window of a building overlooking our practice field. A while later a person was observed at the window. Nothing mentioned about whether it was looked into beyond noting the observation.

The fact that an NFL official noticed it is so eye-opening to me. My guess is the reason they blew it off was probably because the official league stance at the time was "that's football". I mean, wasn't that what John Clayton wisely told us when the Pats complained that the Dolphins stole our signals last year?

It's amazing how quickly that stance turned into pearl clutching when the motive is to dismantle an organization no one could seem to beat on the field.

hehehehehehehehehehehehehehe... expert.

hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe... that's funny.

hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe... now I have tears from laughing so hard.

Matt Walsh is going to have his say and then the world will find out who Matt Walsh is and why the Patriots fired him. It's clear the Patriots are keeping their powder dry for now and will let Specter and Goodell do their media dog and pony show to clear this whole thing up. Only THEN we will find out the who, what, where, when, how involving Walsh.
Mike Holley was on Sports Tonight with Tanguay and Felger and said something that caught my attention immediately. He indicated the Patriots had already given Goodell "information" about this whole thing. I'm assuming they did that when these rumors came up months ago and Goodell asked them about it. That information could very well be what Goodell is referring to. I want a full PUBLIC airing on all this and I think that's what we'll get. Goodell learned his lesson after destroying those tapes.

So, why is all of the BS falling on the Pats if every team does this?

Are the Pats simply the punching bag because they were so good for so long?

This is fair I guess.

No, not really...

Yep. Fans, other owners, GMs, they all want to bring us down. Unfortunately they did. Again. But we still have about 6 more tries with Brady.

I wonder if Walsh tried to blackmail the Pats during the original Spygate investigation... Just a guess.

There are also conflicting reports regarding when Walsh was fired. One report said January of 2002 which obviously would be prior to the when the Super Bowl 36 (Feb 2002).

Or if he wasn't fired, it might have been that he was reassigned and no longer worked in the video department at that time. I believe they may have moved him to a scouting position for a short time.
