I just read that only the Redskins have more salary cap hell going into this offseason.

It's easy to see why the Skins do-they're the oldest team in the league who've broken the bank on alot of FAs in recent years...but the Colts?? Other than maybe Vinetieri, have they broke the bank on other FAs? I thought 95% of their roster were home grown draft picks, most of them with rookie contracts?(Except for Peyton, Marvin, Freeney, and Sanders, of course)

How is this so?

You forgot the part where you say you read an article about how the Colts are over the salary cap.

We were discussing the Skins' cap situation on the Cowboys' MB-someone in the thread brought up how the Colts are only $17m behind the Skins(Skins being at $139m, Colts being at $122m, salary cap at $116m).

They'll be able to find some people on that roster not worth $7 million or so. They do every year it seems. As you said, they re-draft the back end of the roster every year so its not like they need a lot of money for free agency.

No doubt Marvin Harrison's agent can expect a few calls from the Colts accounting office.

Unless Marvin has an All-Pro Post season (and history says it will be otherwise), Marvin is DONE!

He might be done anyway.

Looks like it will be a slow offseason this year if the Pats really do sign the 7th pick

Why???

Adrian Peterson's 2007 cap number was a little over $2 million.

In defense of the (admittedly muddled) first post, he did write "going into this offseason."

Fair enough.

The problem with that statement is that the Colts may have done what the Pats did with Eckel - had the player agree to add a large LTBE incentive that counts against the 2007 and the 2008 cap
