I am not saying Brown has lost a step, but is part of who stays and who goes, looking at Brown in 2028?
in 2028, Brown will be 31.5 years old. his cap hit will be $32m. none of it is guaranteed.

Can we just play out 2026 and 2027... can we all just get alone.

Boutte is being replaced by Brown, not so much Doubs, as Doubs can play X, Y or Z

By my thinking if Doubs is playing Y or Z or running those routes, you can have Boutte run the deep outside route with Brown on the other side - putting our 3 best WRs on the field at the same time, and likely confounding Ds who may double team Brown, while Doubs runs a route across the middle and Boutte goes deep

Boutte doesn't get the same separation as Brown does, but is still a helpful asset assuming we keep him.

KW can run those deep routes faster.

Morton is a guy I am paying attention to.

When the Pats drafted TFB I didn’t like the pick. They already had three QBs? Where were they going to put him?

Likewise when the Pats drafted Morton I didn’t like the pick. His arm seemed mediocre, but then I read that he was injured all of the last season, and he has shown a better arm in camp. He will be interesting to watch.

Let's not forget that we have a starting QB who is probably younger than Morton and will be our starting QB for the next 15 years or so. The best outcome for Morton and every other QB we draft for the next 15 years is that he develops and eventually gets good enough to become a backup, get some GOOD game film after an injury and is traded to a QB needy team for something more than a 6th round pick.
And then we draft another QB on the 3rd day and do it again until it becomes time to draft Maye's successor, so in about 13-15 years.

Campbell spent the offseason working out with Tristan Wirfs, Lane Johnson, Dion Dawkins, and Creed Humphrey in Oklahoma. I am sure he learned a lot about technique with that group.

-the downside to keeping 7 WR's is the zero sum game to the 53 man roster. 7 WR's would force the team into rostering only 3 RB's, or 3 S's, or 5 CB's, or 4 DT's. All that I believe are light. I also prefer the team go 10 deep on the OL.

The question will be is there a player who can fill in at multiple positions that will allow seven WRs. I mean they could have a o-lineman be the third TE or maybe use Hollins in that capacity.

Belichick was very good at roster management like that using players in multiple positions when he had a depleted position. For example using Troy Brown at CB. I think Belichick preferred to keep extra linemen on both sides of the ball than extra skill positions, but he did do masterful job when he overloaded one position to hide the lack of depth in others.

KW isn’t going anywhere, a Boutte trade/not trade will not impact that.

But it may impact his playing time, or the potential for the team to have a faster player on the field.

If Boutte stays we will play our best WRs.
If KW proves worthy he will have adequate opportunity.

The thing that flies over your head apparently is that DeG is quite possibly not better and will spend the year on the PS.

The Pats did not have to give Henry squat. He had 7 Mil in salary due plus other sizeable bonuses. The Pats could have just dealt with Henry after this season.

Boutte was/is eligible to extend his current contract after his 3rd season which was 2025. The Pats could have given him more money, but they refused.

The difference? Henry has been a no drama team player Professional who has kept his nose to the grindstone. But, on the other hand, Boutte has been an axxhole distraction who skipped voluntary camp, demanded a trade and taken his unhappiness public.

So, the Pats rewarded Example # 1 (the good dog Henry) who never 5hit on the Pats floor with an extension. They also did not reward Example # 2 Boutte with a biscuit for taking a nice dump in Vrabels office. The moral to this story for the other dogs? Act right and dont be a Boutte and you have a chance to be rewarded too.

Where's the weight stat from?
He was 245 at the combine.
If he's up 6 lbs in less than 4 months that is encouraging.
