DRAFT Welcome to New England - Illinois Edge Gabe Jacas! (2nd round, #55)

If his agent is indeed a "douche" at what point does Jacas have to make a decision regarding his representation?
He has already missed a lot of work and opportunities to become involved in the Patriot culture, which is a lot to catch up on.
Will he waste a whole year and be branded a "malcontent"?
I don't know about you, but making critical decisions at the age of 22 was, for me, not exactly something I had mastery of, especially when there were several people in my ear with strong opinions and interests.

Check the Mic interviews a guy who researchs player injuries every year. In this episode they discuss all 32 teams. They don't discuss the Pats in any detail unfortunately, not even AJBs knee, Mayes shoulder injury last year, Landry or Jacas.

They do get into Will Campbell and he legitimized the difficulty the injury presented at the end of last season.

Its worth a listen though to learn about the different types of injuries and which ones can linger or be problematic. Its not as straight forward as just give it time to heal.

I'm pretty sure there is a medically valid reason as to why the Pats are seeking some risk mitigation when it comes to guaranteed money for Jacas. Or you can assume the impass is because Wolf is an idiot and Kraft is a cheap.

At 22 I made a bad decision to get married to a woman whose values were completely different from mine, that marriage failed.
Work was completely different, as I would never have left a gap in weekly paychecks, I liked that regular stream of income, even though the job sucked.

I made the same scouting report when I got married, been happily divorced for 19 years now.

Same with the job, I’ve never loved my job, but have been doing it for 43 years. It’s the only job I know, and I get paid, so I keep doing it, it pays the bills, and allows me to go on vacation somewhere every year, so I stick with it.

Not looking like a good start for the unproven Rookie and this Team.

They emphasize that it was a Grade 3 MCL tear - very significant pain and likely a lack of trust in the knee. And Will Anderson coming at you doesn't help.

Was a huge mistake playing him over Lowe, unless Lowe was also injured and we just didnt know about it.

Lowe played well in Campbell’s absence. One of the few mistakes Vrabel made was not staying with Lowe, Campbell was not ready to come back. Campbell played well when healthy, not perfect, but well enough. He was obviously a lot worse when he came back.

I do get a kick out of these rookies that hold out, only to be terrible. Like Waston, it better be a valid reason Jacas refuses to sign. If Jacas wants his contract fully guaranteed, I'd take that as a major red flag.

well....
Lowe played well the first game in Will's absence, then slowly regressed to being his bad old self and kinda forced them to go back to Will.
