Mac Jones Says Patriots Offense Was Run by 3 People and nobody knew who was in charge

I believe that. Fn ridiculous. That was an NFL football team?
It was bad but every team goes through a down period. Ours wasn’t THAT bad. Some teams are embarrassing for 10+ years. We had a playoff berth and a couple really bad years before making the Super Bowl again.

Could have been worse

Bad coaching ? Bad talent ? Bad QB ? All of the above ?

Let me say this : that player does a LOT of *****ing and crying. Maybe it’s better to look in the mirror sometimes. That the QB your franchise wants to lead ? Guy who’ll throw everyone but himself under the bus ?

I was excited about his drafting. Smart, successful, coming to a franchise that had won a lot…. Didn’t work out. Maye is much, much better and seems to be in a better spot.

The only good thing about the McCorkle era in NE and Bill's faceplant with Matt Patricia as his OC is they helped bring Drake Maye to NE. Thanks guys! What a team.
I'll never understand the decision to make Patricia OC - it was like Belichick was going out of his way to say FU to Kraft and effectively the fans.

I'm all for having the defense help train the offense to know what to expect, but I wouldn't put a QB coach in charge of the D anymore than have a DC in charge of the

Hasn't Mac publicly *****ed about this before?

This is Mac's third year away, and he has played like a competent, perhaps elite NFL backup.

But if Mac were really good he would have made either the Jax or SF stick with him. As in New England, more was less.

Mac even said they went back to the old offense, but they hadn't practiced it. The great ones would have hit the ground running.

Mac got a bum deal here. But the type of QB you need as starter in this league would have found a way to win, and settle this crisis.

It was higher ranked then the offense run by Bill O’Brien the subsequent season.

You can’t win with all chiefs and no braves. Too many chefs in the kitchen, how many analogies can I use.

There was a power struggle between the owners son and the old coach. It’s literally the plot of Any Given Sunday.

It was time for the old dynasty to end, Brady, Bill… all of it. Time is undefeated.

And who cares what some first round bust says…

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.
It’s “all chiefs and no commanders”

Mac…isn’t an NFL starter. CAN he spit start and win some games? Absolutely.

That said, BB flat checked out that last few years. The coaching moves are indefensible, but the quote that came out about him only wanting to coach players he enjoyed was when I knew the petals had fallen off the rose. You coach the players you feel will help you WIN.

He also seems to have lost his ability to relate to players. NC has been a dumpster fire to the point of making ancient Mack Brown look great.

He has coached about 6 years too long.

It happens.

Josh McDaniels was a defensive coach for years before he was the quarterbacks coach. That worked out great. Huge success.

"BooHoo...Bill told me to throw it 5 yards short to that Indy guy..."

Whiny little *****. Bah

Guy who has a reputation as a dirty player that he got the old fashioned way, by earning it so we all could watch…

The plays that Patricia called would have worked but Corky threw the INT.

Jones complaining about the playcalling is a hoot. Corky hasnt been that successful anywhere he has landed and he still throws or fumbles the games away just like old times. Jones has a HOF RB and TE,

Tommy DeVito is likely a better QB than Mac Jones.

Not so sure about that.
Tommy has thrown 8 career tds and in 12 career games and has 4 wins.
Macs has 67 career tds and has won 28 career games.
Look, we are all glad Mac is gone, but he has proven he can win games in this league and is a very high end backup, amongst the best in the NFL.
Take off the Pats collared glasses, and I don't think anyone could seriously think Cutlets is better QB than Mac.

Two things can be true at the same time:
1) Mac Jones doesn't have what it takes to be a successful NFL starter
2) Late-period BB putting MP, JG, et al in charge of offense lead to chaos

There is a 3rd option. Mac had what it took under McD, but blame goes to him and BB for what ended up taking place. He had no business calling outside the organization for help, but BB put him in that spot. Its tough to argue against what we have seen from Mac in SF. His potential is there again. If he stays there for a few more years, he will have a shot to start again somewhere. It worked for Darnold.

Mac recorded a 97.4 official NFL passer rating and a 62.3 Total QBR during the 2025 regular season. He threw for 2,151 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions. He hasn't been that successful anywhere? You are either a liar or delusional. I can't stand Mac, but he is earning his keep in SF.

I think we see a lot of growth/maturity from Mac being the back up, keeping his mouth shut and doing his job. when called on. he played well, the team won games and advanced to the playoffs. when the starter returned, Mac stood down, even though an argument could be had he had played better than the starter.
Mac should be in demand after this season as he enters free agency
his career has kind of taken a definite turn from his Pats QB room bud, Zippy, whose career has completely stalled

Devito played on the doormat Giants.

They look pretty similar to me, where Devito rises above Mac is character. I’ll take that guy.

He's done fine in SF under competent coaching.
I said I'm glad Mac is gone, but Devito is not a better QB than Mac.
Tommy is a good backup, because he knows he isn't a starter and never will be in this league, so he won't upset thee apple cart.
