Some somber news today,

today we’ve lost a great friend and someone I consider family. We lost Brian aka KennethSimms.

Met him on Patsfans about a decade ago, he was very very depressed. With the help of encouragement from folks on this board he was able to turn his life around. Him, PatsBoy12 (John) long held a group chat together for a decade. Life, sports, anything we were very very close. He was funny, very caring, very opinionated (die on some of the strangest hills) but someone I greatly respected.

He turned out to live 20 mins from me (crazy both mainers and same part of maine) and over the years we’d get together for day 3 of the draft. He had paid for our last meal, I still owe him one. He got to meet my now almost 3 year old daughter and he was great with her. A very kind soul. And he loved animals as well, sorry kind of rambling here didn’t know i’d be making this today.

All this to say, rest in peace Brian, we love you

Rest well, my Beloved friend and brother. There will never be enough words to express the impact you had on my life. I am a better man for having known you. I will always love and respect you. You will be deeply missed.

Sorry to hear this.

May the good Lord rest Brian and keep him, and comfort those who love and mourn him.

Requiescat in pace.

I'm definitely heartbroken by this news. He mentioned you quite a bit @Froob, and always talked about what a great friend you were. This is certainly devastating to say the least...but I'm grateful for you letting us know.

Wow, thanks for this. I remember that time when he came here for support with the mental health stuff.
Hope we can all keep that in mind when working our differences of opinion around here.
On another note, @Froob, 20 minute away is like next door in most of Maine. That's wild.

I thought I remembered a thread like that but when I looked it up it had a different user who started it who was active as recently as 3 hours ago on the board.

I'm sorry to hear this news nonetheless as I know how those kinds of struggles can be overwhelming.

Yes, that was me. That's actually how Brian, Peter and I got close. They reached out to me and it started a life-long journey. Brian talked me through some of my hardest moments and decisions. He never asked for anything in return except for me to love him. This is so excruciating. He was, indeed, an amazing person who truly gave his all to people in need. I believe God has a place reserved for him.
