Fair. People are going to sit here and lose sleep over a 5th but this is better than giving up the farm for Waddle.

The 5th rounder is irrelevant to me, pretty much a throw in for Howies ego.

It's hard to completely judge the trade right now but if the Patriots are a playoff team in the next 2 years this is a great trade, if the Patriots have a bad 2027 or Drake gets hurt and the Eagles are picking in the top 12 somehow in 2028 that would look like a brutal trade.

We have 2 x 5th rounders anyway one from Bradbury trade so we still have a 5th in next years draft.

I would have liked a pick back but pushing the 1st rounder back to 2028 is good news.
The 2027 draft class is stacked.

It is more than I expected, but a 2028 first and 2027 fifth is far considerably less than what the Broncos gave up for Waddle and not considerably more than what the Bills gave up for DJ Moore. A fifth round pick is a crapshoot anyway.
