Celtics 2025-2026 Discussion

Out of the remaining teams...........Wow, this sucks... But... Spurs, OKC, Knicks. In that order. In who I "want" to win it all.
I go back-and-forth on OKC and the Spurs.

I like the Spurs in terms of the players. I hate how incredibly lucky they were to get this team and how incredibly lucky they were to get Tim Duncan also. Other teams do years of planning and the Spurs just win the lottery twice without even having great odds to get dynastic generational players like Wemby and Duncan.

The Thunder are way more deserving from a management standpoint. So many shrewd trades, great development, projects, etc..

But ultimately, when they play I root for the Spurs.

Who here can name the starting lineup for the 1993 NBA Champion New York Knicks?
The NY governor sure can.

That said, Milan Momcilovic dropped out of the draft. He is now a college free agent. Great shooter. Was on my short list for the C's.

If its okc and ny in finals I ain't watching.

C'mon, man. I've done my time. Give an ex-offender a break!
Dude, you did 1 or 2 weeks on a lifetime ban and you want relief? Are you stoopid? Maybe you can disappear for like 10 years. Sorry, but you went where no nomral person would normally go. It was your choice, nothing to do with me.

Yeah OKC has done an awesome job putting that team together. Their quality depth is mind-blowing. And theyre young.
And let's face it: SGA is one helluva player. Lotta things I love about his game.
But I HATE flopping. He doesn't need to do it.
Just like Embiid. 2 great talents who dont need to flop but do. MJ never flopped. Bird never flopped. Magic never flopped.
Russell, Wilt never flopped. Kareem never flopped. Those are the 6 greatest players in history. Kobe never flopped. A top 10 alltime great. It was a point of pride with all of em.
Ya know who flopped? Bill Lambeer.
There ya go.

They really need to change this rule where the defender jumps in the air, SGA changes his direction to lean into the defender and gets three foul shots.

There's always someone that has to ruin the joke. Peace out!

No data behind this, but I feel like international players are more open to flopping because they do that **** all the time in soccer

These finals... I really don't care who wins this. Check that - I just cannot root for any New York team, especially since the 2nd best flopper plays for them.

I am very surprised that the anointed one (SGA) didn't get his second championship. Not having watched any of it, did the refs somehow start calling the fouls correctly? If so, it doesn't bode well for Brunson in the finals.

Objectively this is a really good series. It should be very competitive and you have two contrasting superstars with Wemby and Brunson.

I think this will go seven games.

Of all the sports the NBA tends to have the least intriguing championships and then finally last year we got a grade one and it got derailed with Haliburton‘s injury in game seven.

With the announcement of Luke Kornet signing a 4 year $41 Million dollar contract, it seems like a good time to kick off the topic for the next season.

I'm going to miss Luke. I'm a bit surprised they couldn't match this contract but maybe he wanted to go? The one thing that always bugged me about the way the C's used him was the fact that this team, which constantly bombed away from 3 & allowed Pozingas to launch them with impunity, never set up plays for Luke to take them. He still holds the NCAA record for 3-pointers made by a 7 footer. In his first game with the Knicks in 2017, he became the first player in NBA history to sink three three-pointers and have four blocks in their debut.

I'm bringing up my first post of this thread and adding this:

The Celtics couldn't have used this kind of player this year? Really?

$10 Million per year is all it would've taken. That's it.

I tell you right now, I would've swapped Hauser's $12 Million/year for Kornet's $10 Million/year no problem.

I do wonder what the Spus have given the NBA. I mean, Robinson, then Duncan, now. Wemby?

I dunno..it smells...

The Spurs have done a very good job of being historically bad precisely the year before a generational talent is available in the draft.
