More Myles Garrett Trade Smoke

Campbell was good vs subpar defenses and DCs who could not figure out how to attack the NE offense. Furthermore, Maye is very mobile and fast. Many times the NE OL broke down, but Maye was able to convert into a positive play or at the very least no sack or loss of yardage. Win for the NE OL thanks to Maye.

The quality of opposing QBs also factors into the equation. If NE attained a significant lead the Pats offense would run the ball to burn time off the clock because the other offense struggled to score.

Basically the whose who of Rummy QBs.

Fields
Tua
Spencer Rattler
Quinn Ewers
Dillion Gabriel
Jaxson Dart
Cam Ward
Brady Cook
Bryce Young
Joe Flacco

Baker Mayfield was not enough.
Mike Penix gave NE a good game.
Justin Herbert was god awful.
Stroud had a 0.24 QBR.
Jared Stidham sucks and always has.
A lot of opposing QB’s struggles were due to the Patriots defense being elite.

We’ll see if Campbell post injury returns to form and improves. I’m not emotionally invested in him staying at tackle nor do I understand why others are.

Some people are more interested in being right about their draft evaluation than actually having the best line I guess.

Seattle does have the cap space to get that guy. They got JSN long term, Darnold for 2 more years. Pretty scary. but like us, they also would certainly lose their franchise CB with the signing.

If someone is going to trade for Garrett, it has to be now. Not next year or 2028. Today! Garrett on a contending team would be downright scary.

Seems unlikely...
It is unlikely. There haven’t been any new developments. The articles are just speculation heading to the 6/1 deadline. That’s not to say a trade couldn’t happen, but the situation hasn’t changed.

Sorry i posted this in the OTA message... but could they trade Gonzo plus a future pick for Garrett? What else would Cleveland want... that's good fair trade for both teams... since it appears the Pats don't value Gonzo in the system the way Gonzo values himself in the system and with him taking OTAs off....

isn't the idea of moving on from Garrett would be for cap relief?
moving Garrett would incur dead cap charges, and then they would need to pay Gonzo, perhaps even more than Garrett

MIA 7 - 10, 25th offense - 24th defense.
NYJ 3 - 14. 29th offense - 31st defense.
CAR 8 - 9, 27th offense - 15th defense.
NO 6 - 11, 28th offense - 16th defense.
TENN 3 - 14, 30th offense - 28th defense.
CLE 5 - 12, 31st offense - 14th defense.
CIN 6 - 11, 12th offense - 30th defense. Burrow won 5 games. Flacco and Browning went 1 - 8.
TAM 8 - 9, 18th offense - 20th defense.
NYG 4 - 13, 17th offense - 26th defense.

Just some incredible QBs and offenses right there.

Agree with you 100% on the talent evaluation. Where I disagree is the situation. Trade for even Garrett only makes sense if it positions you to win a superbowl.
IMO, adding Garrett to this defense makes it a Super Bowl winning caliber team regardless of the offense. They'd have to be truly putrid offensively to mess that up.

The Patriots were an elite defense, against the Bills and other playoff defenses. They kept the Seahawks without a TD for almost the entire Super Bowl despite our offense handing the ball back to them repeatedly.

a deal with the cap in mind could be structured around a 2027 1st, a 2028 2nd and Barmore.
not saying Browns would say yes, but the deal would work for the Pats.

I could see that. And if the Browns are actually willing to deal him and Roseman doesn't have a deal in place for Brown the Patriots should contact Cleveland and let it leak that they are in talks with the Browns about Garrett. Roseman doesn't have any other takers and the Patriots can leverage that and the potential of other deals to force his hand.

I'd rather have Garret than brown, if the other team can't score they can't win.

I'd be more interested to hear from people who don't share this opinion.

Garrett is a first-ballot hall-of-famer, all-timer at defensive end.

I'm sure Pats fan2 will be around anytime now

I’d be beyond pumped if Garrett wound up on the Patriots, and you go from a team that’s attempting to show last season wasn’t a fluke to a team that SHOULD be in the AFC championship game. Great for the here and now but does this mean Gonzo is gone? Does this hurt the team trying to improve a still giant question mark at O-line ? Especially once you need to cough up money to resign Drake

No thank you. That's a huge no from me
Curious as to why not?
If you have a chance of getting an all-timer still in his prime at his position, what would be the reasons you wouldn't do it? I'm legitimately curious. I'm generally pretty hesitant to trade a huge pick or multiple picks for a player, but this is the one situation where I'd be ok with it.

This isn't a knock on you, I just genuinely want to know why it's a 'huge no'.

Myles Garrett isn't Micah Parsons, aka, the EDGE player you can get in every first round ever. He's one of the best to ever put on a jersey.

His age, his enormous contract, and the fact that I don't think he cares about winning. He maxed out his contract with the browns and then whined about being with the team. I think the browns are a horrible team and Haslam is a piece of **** for that contract he gave Watson and then tried to throw his wife and daughter under the bus, saying they were fine with the signing.

Garrett called Watson a model citizen and got angry at fans booing him.

He swung Rudolphs helmet at his head and could have really hurt him. Theres never been any supporting evidence by anyone that Rudolph called him the n word.

If we are talking about will Anderson Jr then hell to the yeah trade for him. I'm also 1 of those ******* patriots fans who actually thinks players and coaches should be held to a higher standard ie I think vrabels a piece of ****.

I don't want **** heels on the pats if I can stand it. I think Garrett is a selfish person by his comments and actions
