Will Campbell's a God

I guess having an injury and hitting the rookie wall isn't a thing.
A lot of guys hit the rookie wall after 10 to 12 games, because that's approximately how many games they're used to playing in college. This dude had a 21 game season and suffered a bad injury on top of that. He had enough time to hit the rookie wall twice!

We still have guys writing Campbell off as a LT based on how he performed coming back from injury in his rookie year....against a series of dominant pass rushers?

.
No one should write off Campbell as our LT for the next 4 years and hopefully beyond..

Apparently, the team felt somewhat differently. Surely, Vrabel could have signed a 2nd level seasoned vet as a LT backup (a direct replacement for Lowe). Instead, Vrabel chose to wait and draft a LT.

Sure, Campbell could be a long-term starter at LT, and that would have been fine. INSTEAD, Vrabel will likely have Campbell be our starter at LT for 2026 and consider the various options for Campbell in the future (at LT, LG and at RT).

Guys that want to move him after one semi-successful season are just being impatient. If he plays injury free and struggles this year, then maybe it's a discussion. Now? Just guys wanting to say toldjya.

No. Rattler has a very lively arm. In fact, it’s now stronger than Mahomes’. I will go further. Spencer Rattler has elite arm talent. Consider yourself forewarned.in fact he had a similar if less spectacular throw. Start at 1:40 here.

comments come Sunday night. Spencer is due to unleash greatness. Any day now. Like the Ronnie Milsap song. He's a guy really popular in Louisiana.

Will had some horrible plays in the SB. But I just re-watched some highlights from it...
(I haven't seen a moment of replay since that dreadful night in Feb. until now)
Wilson & Moses had some really bad sequences as well.
And, I've been saying since last year - I'm not sure Wilson is big enough to be the future at Center.
Look at his photos of offseason workouts too - he just seems much smaller than his reported size - 6'3" 310lb.
I'm still pissed that they didn't have Brown come in at all. Clearly Wilson & Campbell were overmatched from the whistle.
Maye got destroyed - it was worse than I remembered.

Against lesser competition. Then lost them all in a SB performance that was so very, very bad.

Ten years from now it'll be all that's remembered from that game.
*ROFLMAO* Tell everyone you only react emotionally and are completely clueless about the game of football otherwise.

Better yet. Go ask Nancy Kerrigan how easy it is to perform on a bad leg. Or go ask your boyfriend to hit you in the leg with a full swing from a baseball bat. Then go and try and deadlift 250 lbs and let us know how it goes.

Gotta move the big guy inside. That SB performance? Mark Morse excuses it by saying he was playing on one leg. Isn't that the OL coach, Dougie Marrone, and his two or three acolytes job? To make sure their player can physically perform?

VLowe, esp in pass protection, would have played better.

If Campbell had wanted to throw the game in the Seahags favor, could he have improved on his play?

No. Never again. Unless it's an emergency. You're a guard now. Wanna try center?

Campbell's arms are just over 32"--Don't trust that homecooking measurement at his pro day--BUT more worrisome is his paltry 77" wingspan. Wingspan is the more important measurement of the two.

He's got some upper torso issue. I mean this is the shortest in nfl recorded history for an OT. This is short even for a QB.

He's like a Dr Frankenstein experiment. His lower half is immense and immensely powerful. Incredible athleticism on Thunder Thighs.

But his upper half is almost delicate. Feminine even. At least by OT NFL standards. (Some clever person might say Why don't you say that to his face.)

But that top half reminds me of the mom in the 1977 Triscuit commercial.

Length matters. The Patriots acknowledge that now. Just look at this year's draft.
You've posted some bad stuff in the past, but this is amongst the worst.

Campbell's arms are 32 5/8" long. That's more than "just over 32". What you believe is meaningless.

No. Wingspan isn't the most important. Not that facts matter to a football ignoramus like yourself.

This idea you're spewing that Campbell has an Upper torso issue is just laughable. And WRONG. As is your BS claim that his upper torse is "feminine". You clearly have never seen a female if you think that.

Your opinions remind of the 1977 Alpo commercial.

BTW, since you are oblivious and missed it entirely, the Pats needed 2 players to be SWING TACKLES behind Moses and Campbell.

He and the entire offensive line have a ton to prove. Maye got assaulted the same way Burrow did when the Bengals made their run to the SB a few years back. It’s got to be demoralizing to get the ball snapped to you and before you make your first read you have two guys directly in your face

To Campbell's credit he had a Guard who graded out poorly overall playing next to him. Yeah Wilson was bad.

Said this before - but Campbell's asset has been terrific footwork, and he just didn't/doesn't have the margin for error to be as effective with a knee injury or not being 100%. But, prior to that, we watched a ton of highlights all year where he was burying people, and his name never came up in a negative way in 2025 prior to the injury. And not everyone he faced was horrible.

It may mean that he won't have as long a career as someone with longer arms who isn't as reliant on his feet, but aside from that, it feels like it's a little early to worry about him. And at least they're doing a better job building depth in the event that either Campbell or Moses (or both) were to get hurt.

Review the posting history of the opening poster, and then make note of his pejorative “Stumpy” remark in the other current thread. This thread was started in bad faith and is not worthy of extensive discussion, especially considering how much remains undisclosed to the public at the present time.

good points
but while Campbell did have some very good games, and some good games, he also had a couple of bad.
pre injury.
will he be a player that improves year over year?
I happen to think he comes back smarter, stronger, healthy, and even more determined. he strikes me as the type that has a very bad taste in his mouth from the SB performance, and is out for revenge against all doubters.
needless to also say, having AVT beside him will be a huge help.

Initially I didn't think he looked good enough to be a top 10 pick but then I came around. Then Myles Garrett basically broke the sack record because of Campbell and my opinion of him went to defcon 2 and his play after the injury clearly left the staff shaken as well because taking another tackle in the first round isn't merely looking for depth imo.

I would usually say year 2 for an early pick is too early to say it is a make or break year but that seems what Will is facing. Honestly feel bad for the kid.

that Cleve game was week 8
In week 9, against Atl, Campbell posted an overall grade from PFF of 72.1 (very good) and a pass block grade of 75 (excellent) and a run block grade of 66.2 (good)

Who has good games against Myles Garrett?

You have the right to take a strong stand on your beliefs. I think your as wrong with this evaluation as you were with the Patriots should have drafted Spencer Rattler rant you went on and on about. I know as much as you on the future of Campbell. He played pretty good before the injury in a rookie season. Yes he had some trouble with a few of the elites and post injury play. He was a rookie.
As I said give him some time to develop so we see what we have. LT in the NFL needs experience and knowledge. Why would you want to take a strong stand and talk down a young promising Patriots players future. If he fails then we will see it and adjust. I’m hoping that with more experience he takes those many good games he had this year and expands on it.

I replied to State before I seen this post. I remember the Rattler is God rants vividly. I believe he wanted Rattler over Maye
