2026 UDFA Thread - aka Best Thread Of The Year

Terrell Jennings averaged 29.5, but small sample size.
Kyle Williams averaged 26.4 on 11 returns. 11 was the 3rd highest number of returns behinds Chism and D'Ernest Johnson.

I wouldn't be surprised if they asked Jam Miller to try doing returns. Same with Larison.
It’s essentially a run play now, a job better suited to RB’s.

Not that any of us know, but who do you think will handle KR duties this season?

If a WR takes that role that'd be 6 - though we kept 7 out of camp for the last 2 years I think. I don't think we should be asking Henderson to take on return duties as he's 1.) not great and 2.) might do better focusing on 1a RB duties.

On that note I felt we were thin at RB last season but I'm still thinking we carry 3 with Jam Miller, who is fast but hasn't returned kicks in college

I assume Marcus Jones will continue at PR
Henderson

And we will NOT carry a player whose primary role is KR.

Miller could take some reps.

It is probably a bit early for us to discuss how many WR's will be on the roster for the first game.

Well, Chism's stats were slightly better than Henderson's - although we know Henderson at least has the ability to break a long return, even if his long was only 28 yards, which is less than Chism's 31

But both had mediocre numbers so I'd hope we could do better.

Who do you want?
Cam Dorner is my Beankie. He's def not the fastest in the WR group (DeGennaro ran a 10.91 100m in HS), but the outstanding agility times, the great hands, the *at least* 20.5mph during his 77yd TD based on my calcs, and just seemingly great demeanor, are what's really drawing me to him.

Hopefully someone shines out of this group. no matter who it is.

Lots of low end WRs. Why is that? Looking for a Slot after they didn't draft one?
He's definitely a small school WR, but I'm not sure he's low-end per se... or even a slot. He was a small school kick returner who took a lot of attempts to the house.

He's 5'11" 200 pounds, stupid fast at 4.3 speed and comparable impressive agility drills, he's got great explosion and is even strong.

Between Kyle Dixon, Nick DeGennaro and Logan Collier I might have to prioritize WR in my binkie selection for this season. I realize most of these guys will fail at the basic task of playing football, but they won't fail because of athletic ability.

He's a boozer, methinks, trying to normalize drinking on the job. I hope he gets squared away, for his sake. He's sort of a stiff, but he knows what he's talking about.
I was in a luxury suite one game and they came in after the game and said if anyone wants to go to the press conference to follow him. I did. Zo was plastered. He knows the game but he is always trying to be something he is not by saying something big is coming today and nothing materializes during FA or trade deadline.

Yes, I read he is a kick returner and was in the Bills camp last Summer and was released. So multiple scouts must have seen his 4.3 speed.

Time and development can change things, so can the possibility the Bills had too many options ahead of him and no time to develop him.

We have many examples of UDFA’s like David Patten who kicked around practice squads before they found a home. Possessing the talent to do the job is half the equation. We’ll see, everything I write in the UDFA thread comes with the caveat that most of these guys will fail.

Zo is apiece of work. I don't get much from him, but I don't mind him either. He's sort of like that dipsomaniac uncle who stumbles around the family reunion, knocks over the Weber, and ends upfalling backwards into the inflatable kiddie pool. We kids loved him: much more interesting than the other dads going on and on about home insurance or how they're pretty sure their station wagon needs a new carburetor. I always listen to the radio audio when I watch Pats games, a habit I began when it was Gil and Gino. I still miss those two, almost as much as I miss Bob Wilson's broadcast of Bruins games way back when. For me , Wilson was the best ever, and hockey has got to be the toughest sport to do on radio.

It was uncanny with Wilson. They would score from a slap shot at the blue line. He would immediately say something like he scores a ricochet off the defenseman’s shin pad. He would name the defenseman. I couldn’t even see if it went in the net. You watch the replay and it was exactly how he saw it

Yep. He was just brilliant. I wish there were an audio archive of his calls somewhere. I'd love to listen to a few games.

This one surprised me today. He was on our 30 visit list and I'm surprised he wasn't picked up. Very explosive linebacker (40+" vert I believe).

You can see how explosive he is on these two plays

I think he automatically becomes the UDFA most likely to make the opening roster.
