Celtics 2025-2026 Discussion

Let's see if they can close it out tonight - they have a huge incentive to take care of business and then rest.

It doesn't hurt that the friggen Magic are on the cusp of taking Detroit out of the playoffs. Just shows you can never take any team for granted.

Detroit has to run the table with 3 straight wins now - which they can probably do but they have to be pretty dejected at this point.

That would nicely open the door to make it to the finals without facing the Pistons - though anyone in the West will still be tough.

Congrats Brad Stevens, NBA Exec. of the Year (2nd time).
Mazzula should win Coach of the Year.
3 of 4 Boston teams are in good hands.

I thought the Pistons were very overrated despite what the record said. Celtics and Knicks are and have been clearly the best teams in the East.

That being said let’s see how it goes for NYK tonight. They are in a battle themselves.

If the Knicks lose and the Celtics win, that will be another week of rest for the Cs.

That should be more of a no-brainer than Stevens Exec award. Without Tatum getting a 2 seed was damn impressive. The other candidates for COY can't say they improved so much but without their best player. I think the final results will tight but Coach Mazzulla is the right choice.

Let's hope the C's don't play with their food tonight and just take care of business

Just close it out now and take possibly a week off waiting for the Knicks / Hawks

Vuc barely tries to defend Embiid. It’s embarrassing. Also DWhite is on a milk carton this series.

They need to play better Defense ASAP

Brown’s hero ball is killing us tonight, among other things.

Joe gets a lot of blame for me. Not pulling Vuc against Embiid. Not switching White out for Pritchard. Stubborn in spite of the clear evidence on the floor.

Just go to the hoop every damn time

That was a seriously wretched loss. Brown, White, Vucevic were awful. Tatum faded completely in the second half. Joe not making adjustments. When all of your star players suck it’s not going to win you many games especially against a team like the Sixers who have talent.

I don't understand this team. If they're not all hitting 3s with regularity things just fall apart, there's no in-between. .

They should’ve been trying to go at Embiid, especially after he hurt his knee and came back. But they just kept shooting threes despite being cold. We’ve seen it plenty of times before.

That comes down to coaching, no other explanation or excuse. They've done just well enough with that approach in the regular season but the playoffs demand greater versatility. Or so it seems.
